TRADITIONAL METHODS OF TREATMENT OF
TUBERCULOSIS IN WESTERN REGIONS OF GEORGIA

The work resumes a large material on the folk methods of pulmonary
tuberculosis treatment in Western regions of Georgia. Methods of
quarantine of patients with TB to isolated rooms from other family
members are described. But such patients were not doomed to loneliness
and starvation. On the contrary, mother or another family leader brought
necessary food to the patient, warm clothes, medicines and Kept them
informed about family events. In towns and villages of Georgia regularly
were held charity to raise money to help the families with such a patient.
Among medicinal means black beeswax, plantain decoction and
potion of coltsfoot leaves, potion of prine cones (with honey), melted
sheep fat and others were popular.
