Merano Magazine, die Zwölfte
Das erste Dutzend ist voll, denn Sie halten
nunmehr bereits die 12. Ausgabe des Merano
Magazine in der Hand. Die Redaktion war
in all den Jahren bemüht, Gästen wie Einheimischen
Meran und seine Umgebung anhand
von ausgewählten Ausschnitten, besonderen
Details und, charakteristischen Persönlichkeiten
näherzubringen, die stellvertretend für die
gesamte Landschaft stehen und den Kontrast
von Berg und Tal, Stadt und Land, alpin und
mediterran widerspiegeln. Stets waren wir
bestrebt, neben den redaktionellen Inhalten
auch Fotografie und Grafik von Ausgabe zu
Ausgabe weiterzuentwicklen, und besonders
in diesem Heft haben wir einen doch recht
deutlichen – aus unserer Sicht gelungenen –
Schritt nach vorne gewagt. Die Grafik geht
neue Wege, für mehrere Hauptthemen wurde
mit namhaften Fotografen exklusiv für dieses
Heft geshootet – mit dem Ziel, den besonderen
Lifestyle und das einzigartige Lebensgefühl
im Meraner Land einzufangen und dem Leser
näherzubringen. Zwei Beispiele? Lesen Sie die
Titelgeschichte „My bike“, in der Meraner ihre
ganz persönliche Beziehung zu ihrem Rad und
dessen Nutzung offenlegen, oder das „Duell
der Köche“, in dem eine eingefleischte Südtiroler
Bäuerin und ein süditalienischer Koch
einen kulinarischen Wettstreit austragen, wessen
Küche denn die bessere sein. Der Ausgang?
Als Südtirol-Liebhaber bzw. Südtiroler wissen
Sie es schon: eine Liaison, eine glückliche
Vereinigung der an sich so unterschiedlichen
kulinarischen Traditionen.

Dodicesima vetta per Merano Magazine
Quota dodici è stata raggiunta; quello che tenete
fra le mani è infatti il dodicesimo numero
di Merano Magazine. In tutti questi anni la
redazione si è data da fare per proporre agli
ospiti e ai meranesi scorci selezionati sulla città
di Merano e i suoi dintorni, dettagli caratteristici,
personalità di spicco, rappresentativi
di un’intera regione e del gioco di contrapposizioni
esistente tra montagna e valle, città e
campagne, ambiente alpino e mediterraneo.
È stato nostro impegno costante, accanto ai
compiti redazionali, sviluppare di volta in volta
anche gli aspetti grafici e fotografici. In particolare,
in questo numero abbiamo compiuto un
deciso passo in avanti in questo senso. Secondo
noi, con pieno successo.
La grafica percorre nuove vie; troverete
molte immagini di nomi importanti della fotografia,
scattate in esclusiva per questo numero
della rivista per catturare il particolare stile e
gusto per la vita che si respira a Merano, e
renderne partecipe il lettore. Due esempi?
Leggete la storia di copertina “My bike”, in cui
i meranesi confessano la loro relazione tutta
personale con la bicicletta e l’uso che ne fanno;
oppure il “duello fra cuochi”, che mette a confronto
un’incallita contadina sudtirolese con
un cuoco del meridione d’Italia, per decidere
quale cucina sia la migliore. Con quale esito?
Come appassionati di vicende altoatesine, la

tra due tradizioni culinarie così diverse.

The 12th summit for Merano Magazine
The magic twelve has been reached: what you
hold in your hands is in fact the twelfth issue
of Merano Magazine. In all these years, the
editorial staff have done their best to provide a
wealth of suggestions for guests and residents
of Merano / Meran as to what they can see and
do in and around Merano. Distinctive details
and renowned personalities are representative
of an entire region where contrasts abound:
between the mountains and valleys, town and
country, the Alpine and Mediterranean. It has
been our constant commitment, alongside our
editorial work over this time, to develop the
magazine’s graphics and photographs. In particular,
this issue has taken a giant leap forward
in these aspects, which we believe has been very
successful.
The graphics, particularly, are treading new
ground and you will find some very famous
photographers have taken many of the pictures,
which were taken exclusively for this issue of
the magazine to capture the unique style and
zest for life that is breathed in Merano, so that
you, the reader, can truly participate in our
life. Two examples? Read the cover story, "My
bike", where residents of Merano divulge their
very personal relationship with their bicycle
and what they use them for, or the "duel between
chefs", which pits a keen South Tyrolean
housewife against a cook from southern Italy
to decide whose cooking is the best. And who
won? As fans of South Tyrol, you already know
the answer: a strong bond, a perfect match, a
successful marriage between two very different
culinary traditions.
Our efforts to provide each issue with contents
that whet your appetite have clearly been
rewarded. We have received a great deal of
positive feedback from our readers, numerous
