fiori o quant’altro, e chi poteva, ovvia‑
mente, denaro. La logica era questa.
Anche se la Repubblica Ceca e Pra‑
ga in particolare hanno fatto passi
da gigante ‑ differenziandosi ormai
completamente da quello che era l’ex
blocco sovietico e arrivando quasi allo
stesso livello dei più moderni stati oc‑
cidentali ‑ una pratica durata quasi 45
anni non può ovviamente morire da
un giorno all’altro. Ecco perché ancora
oggi, soprattutto fuori dalla capitale,
specie nei piccoli centri di provincia,
queste abitudini sono ancora conso‑

Qualche settimana fa la denuncia ai
giornali di un imprenditore ceco, Jiří
Kubáček, già proprietario di un mega
store di scarpe appena fuori Praga, che
dopo aver deciso di allargarsi e aprire
un negozio anche nel centro citta, si
è sentito chiedere 50 mila corone sot‑
tobanco, dai responsabili dell’ammi‑
nistrazione pubblica, solamente per
assicurargli il posto prescelto.
Altri esempi potranno essere forniti da

ristorante molto conosciuto, il quale
si è trovato a vivere una situazione
del tutto fantozziana. Il funzionario
dell’ispettorato igiene pubblica arriva
nel giorno stabilito, controlla che tutte
le carte siano a posto, che i locali, la
cucina, i bagni eccetera siano in ordine
e quando sembra si possa apporre fir‑
ma e timbro su quel benedetto foglio,
lascia intendere che manca ancora
qualcosa, che ripasserà dopo qualche
giorno per ulteriori controlli. Il risto‑
ratore si chiede cosa possa mancare,
