Welcome to Play Alghero, the tourism revolution that
is changing the way we discover the culture and history of a city. This
bold and innovative project, powered by Med Gaims and backed by
significant Euro-Mediterranean funding, has given rise to a new travel
experience in Alghero, making the city a genuine interactive game.
Thanks to the creation of 10 unique games,
each designed for different target audiences and types of tourists,
Play Alghero offers a fun and engaging way to discover Alghero's rich
cultural heritage. Exploring the historic center or visiting the museums
will never be the same. Now, you can immerse yourself in an adventure,
experiencing the city like never before.
Our goal with Play Alghero is to revolutionize the
traditional visit to cultural sites, using innovative techniques and
cutting-edge technologies in the field of gamification. Through the
use of both analog and digital tools, we aim to create a unique experience
for each visitor, turning the discovery of the sites involved in the
project into a true adventure.
The Play Alghero brand is the symbol of this innovation.
This project is an integral part of the larger European project MED
GAIMS (GAmifIcation for Memorable tourist experienceS), funded by
the European Union's ENI CBC Mediterranean Sea Basin Program with
a contribution of 2.1 million euros, concluded in 2022. The Alghero
Foundation is one of the key partners in this initiative, which involves
six other organizations in Lebanon, Spain, and Jordan.
Some games are freely accessible, while others require the purchase
of the game kit at cultural sites, city museums, and the Alghero Foundation's
workshop.
