LETABA Rugbyklub se eerstespan het die afgelope<br />
naweek ‘n vreemde oorwinning oor<br />
Potties op Mokopane behaal toe die wedstryd<br />
teen rustyd gestaak <strong>is</strong>.<br />
En nee, dit was nie oor ‘n bakleiery nie. Een<br />
van Potties se spelers <strong>is</strong> beseer en die wedstryd<br />
<strong>is</strong> gestaak omdat hulle lank vir ‘n ambulans<br />
moes wag en daar wyslik nie verdere r<strong>is</strong>iko vir<br />
moontlike ernstige beserings geloop wou word<br />
nie.<br />
In daardie stadium was <strong>Letaba</strong> met 34-10<br />
voor en totaal in beheer van die kragmeting.<br />
<strong>Letaba</strong> se agterhoede, met losskakel Hario<br />
Engelbrecht aan die spits en goed bygestaan<br />
deur die senterpaar van Dawid van Wyk en<br />
Clinton van der Merwe, het Potties stukkend<br />
gehardloop. Van Wyk het tweekeer agter die<br />
tu<strong>is</strong>span se doellyn gaan kuier en Van der<br />
Merwe eenkeer.<br />
Voorlangs het Picasso Coetzer, eintlik ‘n slot,<br />
‘n puik vertoning op loskop gelewer en Potties<br />
se vaskop, wat tans as die voorste vaskop in die<br />
provinsie gereken word, harde bene laat kou.<br />
<strong>Letaba</strong> se tweedespan het Potties se naasbeste<br />
‘n allemintige loesing van 65-0 gegee.<br />
Losskakel Giepie Labuschagne was hier die<br />
groot uitblinker en het soos ‘n Frik du Preez van<br />
ouds "gescore, gedrop en geplace".<br />
<strong>Letaba</strong> se derdespan het met 20-5 gewen.<br />
Eerskomende Saterdag speel <strong>Letaba</strong>, op die<br />
Tzaneen veld by die skouterrein, teen Loskop<br />
(Groblersdal). Die eerste wedstryd begin om<br />
4-uur en die publiek kan gerus die manne gaan<br />
ondersteun as hulle getrakteer wil word op<br />
gehalte klubrugby.<br />

Limpopo in the Country D<strong>is</strong>tricts<br />
and Festivals Squash tournament<br />
held in Polokwane from 11 to 16<br />

Dawn Pearson fin<strong>is</strong>hed 4th in<br />
the Ladies Individual and was<br />
selected to play Jarv<strong>is</strong>, a remarkable<br />
achievement. Lou<strong>is</strong> Scheepers<br />
played No 1 in the Limpopo B<br />
team along with Anne-Marie Espach<br />
and Jan Viljoen..<br />
The Tzaneen Squash Club had<br />
excellent results in the Limpopo<br />
League against Lou<strong>is</strong> Trichardt,<br />
Potgietersrus and Pietersburg<br />
squash clubs. The A team narrowly<br />
m<strong>is</strong>sed out on 1st place by just one<br />
point when the final game fin<strong>is</strong>hed<br />
9-10 in favour of Lou<strong>is</strong> Trichardt.<br />
The B team won their league for<br />
the first time ever, an excellent<br />
result which <strong>is</strong> a great tribute to the<br />
increasing enthusiasm within the<br />
club.<br />
The club has also started upgrading<br />
the facilities and building a<br />
new court which will mean 5<br />
courts in total. The Tzaneen club <strong>is</strong><br />
very active with approximately 50<br />
members playing in the very successful<br />
social league which has<br />
been running for three months<br />
