DesignationSystemN Cylindrical Roller BearingsThe letter N may be followed by other letterswhich indicate the design of the bearing in moredetail.Examples: NU, NJ, NUP, NCF, NNU, NNCF, etc.If the bearing designation starts with “NN”, doubleor multi-row bearings are indicated.In most cases for cylindrical roller bearings the“0” and the “1” from the symbol of width series isomitted.The most frequently used bearing series are:(0)2 (0)3 (0)422 2310 20 30 5018 29 3948 49 69NA Needle Roller BearingsThe designation of needle roller bearings withmachined rings starts with NK or NA.Q Four-Point Contact Ball BearingsDepending upon their design four-point contactball bearings are identified either by “Q” (splitouter ring) or “QJ” (with split inner ring).For four-point contact bearings the “0” of the symbolfor the width series is omitted for practical use.The most commonly used series are:10 (0)2 (0)3T Tapered Roller BearingsThe designation of metric standard tapered rollerbearings is in accordance with DIN ISO355 thefi rst letter being “T”.Bore DiameterNormally the bore diameter of a standard bearingis integrated in its base designation as a two-digitnumber, termed the bore reference number.This bore reference number is written after thesymbol indicating the bearing series, (see fi g. 3.4and fi g. 3.5).
