ABSTRACT
THE UNDRESSED SOCIETY: one of the ways of Modern
Brazilian Drama investigates one type of modern Brazilian drama which is
based upon the following three elements: memory - time - language. Vestido
de Noiva by Nelson Rodrigues, Ras to Atrás by Jorge Andrade, Reveillon by
Flávio Márcio, No Natal A Gente Vem Te Buscar by Naum Alves de Souza,
and Rasga Coração by Oduvaldo Vianna Filho were the analyzed plays in this
paper. The relationship among Brazilian theater and Brazilian society,
psychoanalysis, philosophy an aesthetics was analysed in the five plays.
Moreover the relationship between these plays and modem characteristics was
investigated, and the affinity with artistic movements such as the expressionism
as well. The relatioship between the texts and the Brazilian society revealed a
dialogism which was investigated in this paper. In order to investigate the
undressing of the present Brazilian society in these plays, we searched out the
characters. The relationship between staging and the dramatic writing was
analyzed in this dissertation by involving the meaningful role of the theather
word which is supported by the movement and vitality in each staging moment.
