ABSTRACT<br />

This dissertation presents a methodology that systematize the teaching competence<br />

of technological innovation. Research methodologies used to generate this work<br />

were: applied research, qualitative research, exploratory research, bibliographical<br />

research, action research and case study by focusing on the theme industrial<br />

automation. The result of this dissertation is a proposed methodology for the<br />

teaching of technological innovation competence. This methodology for teaching<br />

competence technological innovation, is placed in the format of cause and effect<br />

diagram of Ishikawa (1993), which facilitates their understanding and monitoring.<br />

Moreover, this dissertation provides clear references to the pe<strong>da</strong>gogical practices<br />

based on a framework created by the author, establishing a taxonomy of the three<br />

levels of professionals working in industrial environment: technician, technologist<br />

and engineer. This taxonomy guided the focus should be given training in each of<br />

these professionals by assisting the teacher in the definition of teaching strategies.<br />

Complements this study, learning situations developed based on the proposed<br />

methodology that demonstrates how they can be prepared exercises and tasks that<br />

allow students to acquire competence to produce innovation, from concepts such as<br />

Bloom's Taxonomy, rules to create challenges and attitudes necessary for the proper<br />

performance of these professionals. The conclusion of this dissertation suggests the<br />

distribution of content related to innovation management throughout the course and<br />

summarizes the methodology for teaching competence technological innovation in a<br />

flowchart in order to guide the way to create learning situations and teaching<br />

strategies that lead a reasoning algorithm favorable to the practice of technological<br />

innovation by the technician, technologist and engineer.<br />
