Depois <strong>de</strong> ganhar o prémio <strong>de</strong> melhor filme <strong>de</strong> ficção no festival<br />

canadiano <strong>de</strong> estudantes <strong>de</strong> cinema com o curta “La Rivière Rit”,<br />

em 1988, Benoît Pilon funda Les Films <strong>de</strong> l’Autre, uma empresa<br />

<strong>de</strong>dicada à produção <strong>de</strong> filmes <strong>de</strong> autores in<strong>de</strong>pen<strong>de</strong>ntes.<br />

Na sequência da sua carreira como assistente <strong>de</strong> direcção, dirigiu<br />

vários filmes: “Regards volés” (1994, Gol<strong>de</strong>n Sheaf Award para<br />

melhor drama <strong>de</strong> mais <strong>de</strong> 30 minutos, Yorkton); “Rosaire et la Petite-Nation”<br />

(1997); “Impressions, autour du Quatuor à Cor<strong>de</strong>s <strong>de</strong><br />

Clau<strong>de</strong> Debussy”(1998, nomeado para três Gémeaux); 15 episódios<br />

da série <strong>de</strong> TV “Réseaux”(1998-99) e “3 Soeurs en 2 Temps”(2002),<br />

um documentário exibido na competição internacional do Montréal<br />

International <strong>Festival</strong> of Films on Arts, em 2003.<br />

“Roger Toupin, Épicier Variété” (2003) ganhou muitas créditos no<br />

Canadá e no estrangeiro.<br />

Des<strong>de</strong> então, Benoît Pilon tem-nos dado “Nestor et les Oubliés”<br />

(2006), apresentado no Montréal World Film <strong>Festival</strong> e no <strong>Festival</strong><br />

<strong>de</strong> <strong>Cinema</strong> <strong>de</strong> Namur na competição internacional <strong>de</strong> documentário,<br />

e “Des Nouvelles du Nord” (2007), exibido no <strong>Festival</strong><br />

en Abitibi-Témiscamingue e no RIDM.<br />

After winning the award for best fictional film at the Canadian<br />

stu<strong>de</strong>nt film festival with the short “La Rivière Rit”, in 1988 Benoît<br />

Pilon foun<strong>de</strong>d Les Films <strong>de</strong> l’Autre. A production company<br />

<strong>de</strong>dicated to in<strong>de</strong>pen<strong>de</strong>nt auteur films.<br />

Following his career as an assistant director, he directed several<br />
