Este filme apocalíptico de “zombies”, filmado nas planícies da
fronteira Escocesa nas Highlands, segue os passos do “Night of
the Living Dead” de George A. Romero. Desta vez, porém, um
grupo de indivíduos numa casa isolada não enfrenta zombies,
mas sim pessoas infectadas por um vírus neuropático que provoca
loucura. O contraste entre o mundo exterior e o interior aparentemente
seguro da casa, vai desaparecendo gradualmente, bem
como as diferenças entre as pessoas infectadas e as saudáveis.
A doença cuidadosamente escondida vai surgindo lentamente
através do passado traumático dos heróis. O filme estrutura-se no
contraste entre a paisagem tranquila, a casa de silêncio e as imagens
selvagens da insanidade mental.
This zombie-apocalypse-like movie set on plains of the Scottish
Borders (Highlands) follows in the footsteps of the Night of the
Living Dead by George A. Romero. This time however a group
of people in an isolated house does not face zombies, but people
infected by a neurological virus causing insanity. The contrast
between the outside world and the seemingly safe interior of the
house gradually disappears just like the differences between the
infected and healthy people. Carefully hidden insanity slowly filters
out through the traumatic past of the heroes. The film builds
on the stark contrast between the peaceful countryside, the quiet
house and the savage images of insanity.

Esta jovem escocesa interessou-se desde cedo pelas histórias de fantasias
sombrias. Deixou a universidade por problemas financeiros e alistou-se
no exército.
Começou a fazer vídeos de música depois de completar a escola de cinema
e foi co-fundadora da empresa de produção Mothcatcher para produzir
“The Dead Outside”.
This Scotland native became interested in dark fantasy stories early in life.
She left university because of financial problems and joined the army. She
started making music videos after completing film school and co-founded
production company Mothcatcher to produce The Dead Outside.
