Experiencing the Exchange
The VII International Congress of Translation and Interpretation organized by ABRATES took place from the 3rd to the 5th of
June. Clear Words Translations was one of the sponsors of this exceptional meeting, which welcomed hundreds of colleagues.
ABRATES fosters the exchange and contact between colleagues, institutions and agencies. The host city for this congress
was Rio de Janeiro, chosen for her cultural joyfulness and great opportunities for translators and interpreters from all around
the world.
The Congress was featured by experienced and prestigious professionals and experts, such as Cora Rónai, Lenita Esteves,
Daniele Petruccioli, Isa Mara Lando and Dominique Pivard. The event offered a broad program, in which presentations and
workshops related to literary translation, game translation, audiovisual translation, and topics dealing copyrights, translatorclient
relationships and internalization of the professional translator were included.
Our participation in ABRATES 2016 was focused on the professional growth within the national and international markets and
the constant search of excellence in the areas of translation and interpretation. The relationship with similar associations and
the possibility of nurturing from the best practices and professionals is essential for our team. We keep on preparing for new
