posicionamento tem se fortalecido com uma presença cada
vez mais intensa nas principais agendas internacionais”, avalia
o superintende da associação, Paulo Pupo. No campo político,
a entidade tem atuado junto ao governo e órgãos financiadores
para aperfeiçoar os mecanismos de financiamento ao processo
produtivo.
Outra ação adotada na tentativa de melhorar as condições
das empresas que têm o mercado internacional como
um dos destinos para seus produtos é encontrar soluções para
os problemas de logística e infraestrutura. “Da promoção de
encontros, que possibilitem a troca de informações e do diálogo
entre as autoridades portuárias e os empresários, passando
pela realização de eventos que promovam discussões em torno
desse tema, a Associação tem sido protagonista desse debate
e continuará atuando para desenvolver melhores logística e
infraestrutura, que atendam as necessidades do setor.

MADEIRA SERRADA DE PINUS
A desaceleração da economia brasileira associada principalmente
à desvalorização cambial entre 2014 e 2015 impactou
positivamente no aumento do volume de exportação da madeira
serrada de pinus – passando de 741 mil metros cúbicos em
2011 para mais de 1,3 milhão em 2015. Com a queda no consumo
interno, os níveis de exportação desse produto voltaram a
crescer, chegando aos patamares de 2006 e 2007.

Em 2006, eram produzidos 14,6 milhões de metros cúbicos
de madeira serrada de folhosas. No ano passado, esse volume
foi de 2,7 milhões. O valor de comercialização pelo Brasil tamveneer

LOBBY FOR FOREST PRODUCT EXPORTS
Acting so that Brazilian forest product exports grow sustainably
and continuously in the main consumer markets, is
one of the Abimci missions. For that, the entity has acted as
representative on international fronts through cooperation
agreements and information exchanges.
“With a history of more than 40 years, the entity has
become consolidated as the voice of the forest product
industry abroad and this position has been strengthened
with an increasingly intense presence in major international
agendas,” says Paulo Pupo, Supervisor of the Association. In
the political field, the entity has worked with the Government
and financing agencies to improve funding mechanisms for
the productive process.
Another action being taken in an attempt to improve
the conditions of the companies that have the international
market as one of the destinations for their products is finding
solutions to logistics and infrastructure problems. “Promoting
meetings, which allow the exchange of information
and dialogue between port authorities and entrepreneurs,
through events that promote discussions around this theme,
the Association has been a protagonist in this debate and will
continue working to develop better logistics and infrastructure
to meet the needs of the Sector.

The deceleration of the Brazilian economy, associated
with the exchange rate devaluation between 2014 and 2015,
has impacted positively on increasing the export volume of
pine sawnwood – increasing to more than 1.3 million cubic
meters in 2015 from 741,000 in 2011. With the fall in domestic
