Gaya
No final do ano de 2015, no
dia 18 de outubro, nasceu no
Zoo Brasília, com 4,5 quilos, um
filhote fêmea de Adax (Addax
nasomaculatus) apelidada pelos
visitantes de “Gaya”. O animal
é um antílope oriundo de áreas
desérticas do norte da África.
Em maio, o filhote pôde ficar no
ambiente externo no recinto, foi
para a ala da maternidade junto
com a mãe dentro do recinto, na
Galeria África.
Gaya
On October 18, 2015, a female
calf of addax (Addax nasomaculatus)
was born in Zoo Brasília
with 4.5 kilos and was nicknamed
“Gaya” by the visitors. The animal
is an antelope from the desert areas
of northern Africa. In May, the calf
was able to stay on exhibition and
went to the maternity ward along
with the mother inside the external
area on their enclosure in the Africa
Gallery. In the first months of life,
Gaya had to be under surveillance

Nos primeiros meses de vida,
Gaya teve que ficar de resguardo
para que técnicos do Zoo acompanhassem
o comportamento e a
saúde do animal. Na maternidade
ela passou por exames, tomou
vacinas e vermífugos e teve o peso
e o tamanho acompanhados. A
família de Adax no Zoo é formada
pela mãe, o pai e o irmão.
