Przewalski e Furão-das-patas-pretas
foram salvas de extinção graças
ao trabalho de reprodução em
zoológicos.
O plantel de mamíferos do
Zoo Brasília tem 194 indivíduos,
agrupados em 62 espécies. Destas,
43,5% estão presentes nas listas de
espécies ameaçadas de extinção.
Este ano, no dia 18 de março,
comemoramos o nascimento de um
filhote de Macaco-aranha-de-carapreta
(Ateles chamek), espécie de
primata que ocorre na Amazônia.
Outra reprodução importante foi o
nascimento de um filhote de Ádax
(Addax nasomaculatus), no final de
2015, uma espécie criticamente
ameaçada de extinção e cujo
levantamento atual só identificou
três (3) indivíduos na natureza.

Przewalski’s horse (Equus ferus
przewalskii) and Black-footed ferret
(Mustela nigripes) have been and
are being saved from extinction due
to work of reproduction in zoos.
The mammals collection of
Zoo Brasília has 194 individuals,
grouped into 62 species. Of these,
43.5% are on the red lists of endangered
species.
On March 18, 2016, we celebrate
the birth of a baby of Black-faced
spider monkey (Ateles chamek),
a primate species that occurs in
the Amazon. Another important
reproduction was the birth of a
calf of Addax at the end of 2015, a
species critically endangered and
whose current survey identified only
3 individuals in the wild.
