Club World’s Best in 49er and 49er FX prefer the CNC
waves and strong winds of Guia, or the
more unstable conditions inside the Bay
of Cascais. All this contributed to the
CNC demonstrating, once again, that
its High Performance Training Centre
is a worldwide reference.
Also proving its mastery in the art of
welcoming, during this period, Clube
Naval de Cascais organized two training
races especially for these sailors. In the
first, carried out at the end of September,
in the 49er FX Class, the Singapore team,
resident in Cascais, composed of Kimberley
Lim and Cecilia Low, was the winner, with
the second place going to the “golden girls”
Martine Grael and Kahena Kunze, from
Brazil (who were unable to join the fleet
on the last day due to an injury suffered by
Martine Grael), with the British Charlotte
Dobson and Saskia Tidey, Vice-Champions
of the World in Geelong, Australia, taking
the lowest place on the podium. In class
49er, the big winner was the Bavarian crew
formed by Erik Heil and Thomas Plobel,
