HÁ A EXPECTATIVA DE AMPLIAÇÃO DOS PRO-
GRAMAS DE CERTIFICAÇÃO PARA OS PRODUTOS
MADEIREIROS PARA ATENDER AS DEMANDAS DO
MERCADO. COMO SE DARÁ ESTÁ AMPLIAÇÃO?
Faz parte da história da Abimci o incentivo à fabricação
de produtos certificados. Desde a década de 1990,
quando ocorreu o desenvolvimento do PNQM (Programa
Nacional de Qualidade da Madeira), a Abimci atua para
auxiliar as empresas na otimização do processo produtivo
e, consequentemente, possibilitar a entrega ao mercado
de produtos dentro de padrões técnicos exigidos
pelas normas vigentes. A entidade também é gestora
do Comitê Brasileiro de Madeira da ABNT, o CB-031, e
coordena nacionalmente as atividades do Comitê, no desenvolvimento,
elaboração e revisão das normas técnicas.
Programas de certificação são naturalmente decorrentes
da crescente demanda técnica pelo mercado e se tornam
ferramentas estratégicas para o avanço e posicionamento
dos produtos no mercado de consumo. Temos exemplos,
há muitos anos, consolidados na Abimci como o PNQM,
a certificação CE por meio da parceria de 20 anos com a
BM Trada para a Certificação CE Marking, necessária para
a exportação ao mercado Europeu, assim como, mais
recentemente, a certificação de conformidade de produto,
o UKCA Mark, válida para os países da Grã-Bretanha.
Um importante case de sucesso, refletido nas conquistas
técnicas e de mercado, foi com o desenvolvimento do
PSQ-PME (Programa Setorial da Qualidade de Portas de
Madeira para Edificações) que hoje conta com 21 empresas
participantes e mais de 60 produtos certificados,
consolidado no mercado da construção civil, em especial
junto as construtoras do país e reconhecido pela Inmetro.
Recentemente, em 2022, a Abimci lançou o Programa
Setorial da Qualidade do Compensado Plastificado e, no
momento, as empresas participantes já estão sendo auditadas
e seus produtos, focados em forma de concreto,
sendo testados. A expectativa é que nos próximos meses
os primeiros produtos estejam certificados e disponibilizados
ao mercado. A Abimci continuará atenta as demandas
de mercado, tanto no desenvolvimento de novas
normas técnicas quando na elaboração de programas de
certificação, tendo sempre como foco o atendimento às
necessidades do mercado.

PUBLICAÇÃO DA NORMA TÉCNICA DE CONSTRU-
ÇÃO DE CASAS COM O SISTEMA WOOD FRAME.
O QUE VAI MUDAR NO MERCADO QUANDO ISSO
ACONTECER?
A Abimci, por meio da gestão do CB-031, tem liderado
o desenvolvimento desta e de outras normas para
intensificar o uso da madeira na construção civil no país
e, especificamente no desenvolvimento da norma wood
frame, organizou todas as agendas para o processo da
elaboração da norma técnica, sempre defendendo a apliproducts

THERE IS AN EXPECTATION TO EXPAND CERTIFI-
CATION PROGRAMS FOR FOREST PRODUCTS TO MEET
MARKET DEMANDS. HOW WILL THIS EXPANSION TAKE
PLACE?
This is part of Abimci’s history to encourage manufacturing
certified products. Since the 1990s, when the National Wood
Quality Program (PNQM) was developed, Abimci has been
working to assist companies in optimizing the production
process and, consequently, enabling companies to deliver
products within the technical standards required by current
standards to the market. The entity is also the manager of AB-
NT’s Brazilian Wood Committee, CB-031, and coordinates the
activities of the Committee nationally in developing, elaborating,
and revising technical standards. Certification programs
are natural due to the growing technical demand of the market
and have become strategic tools for the advancement and positioning
of products in the consumer market. For many years,
we have examples consolidated in Abimci such as PNQM, CE
certification through the partnership of 20 years with BM Trada
for CE Marking Certification, necessary for export to the European
market, as well as, more recently, the product conformity
certification, the UKCA Mark, valid for the United Kingdom.
An important successful case, reflected in the technical and
market achievements, was the development of the Sectorial
Program of the Quality of Wooden Doors for Buildings (PSQ-
-PME). Today, the program has 21 participating companies and
more than 60 certified products consolidated in the building
construction market, especially with the Country’s building
construction companies and recognized by Inmetro. Recently,
in 2022, Abimci launched the Plasticized Plywood Quality Sector
Program. The participating companies are already being
audited, and their products, focused on concrete forms, are
being tested. The first products are expected to be certified
and made available in the coming months. Abimci will continue
to pay attention to market demands in developing new
technical standards and certification programs, always focusing
on meeting the market’s needs.
TALKING ABOUT PRODUCT STANDARDIZATION, THE
MARKET HAS BEEN WAITING FOR THE PUBLICATION
OF THE TECHNICAL STANDARD FOR BUILDING HOUSES
WITH THE WOOD-FRAME SYSTEM FOR SEVERAL YEARS.
WHAT WILL CHANGE IN THE MARKET WHEN THIS HA-
PPENS?
Abimci, through the management of CB-031, has led the
development of this and other standards to intensify the use of
timber in building construction in the Country. Specifically, this
includes the development of the wood-frame standard, has
organized all the agendas for drafting the technical standard,
and always defending the applicability of processed timber
products. The standard for the construction of houses using
the wood-frame system is in the final process of domestic
consultation by ABNT. We expect it will be published soon, an
