wood-based materials used in furniture
making as massive, (lumber)
veneer sheet, plywood, checkerboard,
fiberboard, chipboard,
paper and resin impregnated or
plastic coated decorative sheets.
Today, technological and economic
necessities have forced the businesses
to search for better ways of
doing things, and the investigation
of new solutions and improvement
opportunities to remove negative
features of solid wood materials
and the production of other new
wood-based materials. For this
reason, new industrial wood-based
fiberboards, chipboards, laminates,
etc. have been produced for the
furniture and building industries
as basic elements instead of wood.
Approximately 80% of the particleboards
produced in our country
and 70% of the fiber boards are
used for furniture production in
Turkey.
These kinds of wood-based materials,
are easy to use and shorten
the construction period in harmony
with the serial and standard
production styles, have opened a
new era in the production of serial
production of furniture products.

Günümüzde teknolojik ve ekonomik
zorunluluklar, masif ağaç malzemenin
bazı olumsuz özelliklerinin araştırılmasını
ve iyileştirilmesini ve de odun
kökenli yeni diğer malzemelerin üretilmesini
gerekli kılmıştır. Bu nedenle, mobilya
ve yapı elemanlarında ağaç malzemenin
yerine kullanılan yeni endüstriyel
ağaç kökenli lif levha, yonga levha,
laminat gibi malzemeler de üretilmiştir.
Ülkemizde üretilen yonga levhaların
yaklaşık %80‟i, lif levhaların %70‟i
mobilya üretiminde kullanılmaktadır.
Seri ve standart üretim tarzına uygun
yapım süresini kısaltan ve kullanımı
kolay olan ağaç kökenli bu tür malzemeler,
seri mobilya üretiminde yeni bir
dönem açmıştır. Teknolojik ve ekonomik
koşulların öne çıktığı endüstriyel olarak
üretilen mobilyalarda ve estetik etmenlerin
ön plana çıktığı ısmarlama mobilyaların
biçimlenmesinde de bu malzemeler
kullanılmaktadır.
