The potential of Turkish producers will be
realised in the new markets
Istanbul Furniture, Paper and Forestry Products Exporters'
Association continues to carry out its activities at full speed
in order to expand its export markets and increase its
efficiency in existing markets. Association made its first visit
to Mauritania and Senegal, which are among the shining
stars of West Africa and attract great interest with their
stable trade capacities, within the scope of the Organization
of Islamic Cooperation Countries Strategy under the
coordination of the Ministry of Trade and the organisation of
the General Secretariat of Istanbul Exporters' Associations.
While the African geography promises a productive trade
environment in terms of target export markets, Güleç,
speaking on the trade delegation organisation, said,
"Mauritania and Senegal are among the most important
countries of the African continent. Our commercial activities
for the region are increasing day by day. We exported 637
million dollars to Senegal in 2022 and 208 million dollars
to Mauritania. Both countries love Turkish products and
approach us warmly. As the furniture, paper and forestry
products industry, we have held various negotiations in
order to get more place in the market, and we expect
to receive the results of these negotiations in a positive
way in 2024. Senegal and Mauritania are countries that
attract attention with their geographical location and port
opportunities. When we look at this side of the business,
it is also possible to be an important cooperation centre
in our trade towards the region. In addition, the fact that
Turkish Airlines has reciprocal passenger and cargo flights
to Dakar is one of the factors that will facilitate our logistics
to the region. We expect our exports to the region through
Senegal and Mauritania to expand in terms of capacity
in the coming period and we are carrying out intensive
activities to achieve this. We would like to thank Hatice Nur

Mr. Abdoulaye Sow, President of the Dakar Chamber of
Commerce, and Mr. Momar Diouf, President of the Turkey -

Türk üreticisinin gücü yeni pazarlarda
hissedilecek
İstanbul Mobilya, Kağıt ve Orman Ürünleri İhracatçılar
Birliği, ihracat pazarlarını genişletmek ve mevcut pazarlarda
etkinliğini artırmak için tüm hızıyla çalışmalarına devam
ediyor. Birlik, Ticaret Bakanlığı’nın koordinasyonu ve İstanbul
İhracatçı Birlikleri Genel Sekreterliği organizasyonuyla
İslam İşbirliği Teşkilatı Ülkeleri Stratejisi kapsamında ilk
ziyaretini Batı Afrika'nın parlayan yıldızları arasında yer
alan ve istikrarlı ticaret hacimleriyle dikkatleri üzerine
çeken Moritanya ve Senegal’e gerçekleştirdi. Hedef ihracat
pazarları açısından Afrika coğrafyası verimli bir ticaret ortamı
vaat ederken, gerçekleşen ticaret heyeti organizasyonu
üzerine konuşan Güleç, “Moritanya ve Senegal Afrika
kıtasının en önemli ülkelerinden. Bölgeye yönelik ticari
faaliyetlerimiz her geçen gün artıyor. Senegal’e 2022’de
637 milyon dolar, Moritanya’ya da 208 milyon dolar ihracat
gerçekleştirdik. Her iki ülke de Türk ürünlerini seven ve bize
sıcakkanlı yaklaşan ülkeler. Biz de mobilya, kağıt ve orman
ürünleri sektörü olarak pazarda daha çok yer edinmek
adına çeşitli görüşmeler gerçekleştirdik, bu görüşmelerin
sonuçlarını 2024 yılında pozitif bir şekilde almayı bekliyoruz.
Senegal ve Moritanya hem coğrafi konumları hem de
liman olanakları ile dikkat çeken ülkeler. İşin bu tarafından
baktığımızda bölgeye yönelik ticaretimizde önemli bir
iş birliği merkezi olması da mümkün. Ayrıca Türk Hava
Yolları’nın Dakar’a karşılıklı yolcu ve kargo seferlerinin
olması da bölgeye lojistiğimizi kolaylaştıracak unsurlardan
bir tanesi. İlerleyen süreçte Senegal ve Moritanya üzerinden
bölgeye ihracatımızın hacimsel olarak büyümesini
bekliyor ve bunun gerçekleşmesi için yoğun faaliyetler
yürütüyoruz. Ziyaretlerimiz sırasında bizlere destek olan;
Türkiye Cumhuriyeti Dakar Büyükelçimiz Sayın Hatice Nur
Sağman’a, Dakar Ticaret Odası Başkanı Sayın Abdoulaye
Sow’a, Türkiye – Senegal İş Konseyi Başkanı Sayın Momar
Diouf’a organizasyonumuza kıymetli katkılarından ötürü
