Abstract: Flora of the Znojmo region was written by the first of the authors and was not published either
at the time of its origin or at any later time. It describes the historical distribution of almost 1500 taxons of
vascular plants, and it is the only comprehensive source of information on the flora of the region between
the end of the 19 th century (OBORNY 1879, 1883–1886) or the beginning of the 20 th century (HIMMELBAUR
& STUMME 1923) and the period of intense botanical studies at the end of the 20 th century (GRULICH 1997).
At present the manuscript has been supplemented by references to revised herbarium items, commented
and evaluated. The most important merit of the work is in records of the flora of plant communities either
vanished or heavily suppressed by changes in the land use during the second half of the 20 th century (salt
marshes, waterlogged meadows, extensively used fields and pastures). It contains the last (or some of the
last) dated reports on the occurrence of several plant species in the Czech Republic (Camelina sativa,
Ceratocephala testiculata, Lolium remotum, Lolium temulentum, Scandix pecten-veneris) or in Moravia
(Myosotis discolor, Ornithogallum umbellatum, Turgenia latifolia). Many plant species, do cu men ted by
Drlík, have not been confirmed as occurring in the Znojmo region at present.

ÚVOD
Snad by se mohlo zdát, že vydání Drlíkova rukopisu o květeně Znojemska po 50 letech
od dokončení postrádá smysl. Za to půlstoletí se krajina velmi podstatně změnila – byly
roz vrá ce ny majetkové vztahy v zemědělství, po vzniku státních statků a družstev začaly
ohrom né nevratné změny v přírodním prostředí. Drlíkova práce má přesto i po tolika
letech značnou hodnotu. Je především důležitým dokumentem o rozšíření stovek druhů
rostlin v regionu, k nimž shromáždil bohatou dokumentaci. Unikátní je zejména skutečnost,
že souběžně s rukopisem zůstaly ve sbírkách znojemského muzea zachovány jeho
herbářové doklady. Právě srovnání údajů v rukopise s dokladovým sbírkovým materiálem
dovoluje posoudit úroveň Drlíkova bádání a kriticky interpretovat jeho záznamy.
