2.4.2PriorityProjects
One of the objectives of working groups, which have been previously explained, was to
generateprojectideasthathaveservedasthebasisforcreatingthedevelopmentstrategy.The
priorityprojectsthatwereselectedamongproposedprojectideas,are5projectideasthat
contributethemosttothepreservationofbiologicalandlandscapediversity.
Theseare:
Bikethemedtracks(connectingruralandcoastalpartsofthemunicipalityKolan);
ConstructionandtouristpromotionofornithologicalreservesVeloandMaloBlato;
Constructionoftheislandforthebirds,andmarketingpromotionofNinSaltpans
(withintheprotectionofthesaltpansarea);
AncientIllyrianspaththeconstructionofbicyclepaths;
Trate,tunere 1 ofNovigradseaopenairmuseum.
Withitsrealization,theseprojectscanserveasinitiatorsofthedevelopmentofecoandrural
tourismaswellasexamplesofgoodpractice.
2.4.3Establishingpartnerships
Preconditionforthecreationofinfrastructureforintegratedecoandruraltourismofferand
sustainabledevelopmentofthisareaistheestablishmentofpartnershipsatalllevels:better
connectionoflocalgovernments,localauthoritiesandentrepreneurs,thetransferofknowledge,
standardizationofmethodology,improvedcooperation,andfacilitatedorganization.
Inaccordancewiththeconclusionssofar,aneedfortheestablishmentofprofit,nonprofitand
public sector partnership has been identified (the Partnership”) as an “umbrella” or
organizationwhoseactivitieswillbefocusedonthedevelopmentofecoandruraltourism,or
greenenterprise.
Establishmentofpartnershipsbetweenlocalandregionalgovernmentandecoentrepreneursis
asignificantsteptowardsimplementingthestrategyofdevelopmentofecoandruraltourism
intheareaofCOASTproject,andbeyond.InlinewiththeCOASTprojectandthefactthatfour
DalmatianCountiesarecoveredwiththeproject,aPartnershipshouldbeestablishedonthe
levelofthewholeregionofDalmatia,inordertousetheentirepotentialoftheregionfor
developmentofecoandruraltourism.
