In še zadnji dokaz, komu so bili domobrancineposredno podrejeni. Slovensko četništvo (Plava garda)– Jugoslovanska vojska v domovini(1941–1945)Kapetan Uroš Šušterič, nedavno razglašeničetniški vojvoda »Triglavski«, ni mogel verificiratispodaj navedene prisege pripadnikovJVvD, ker so v nekaterih krajih nekdanje Jugoslavijein enotah poveljniki četniški korpusovspoštovali tudi tradicionalne običaje. Ob vsakiprisegi so pravoslavni duhovniki blagoslavljalizaprisežene borce in starešine. Prisega se jeglasila: »Ja, (čin, ime i prezime), zaklinjem sesvemogućim Bogom, da ću Vrhovnom Zapovednikusve vojne sile, Kralju Jugoslavije Petru II.,svagda i u svim prilikama, biti veran, svom dušomodan i poslušan; da ću se za Kralja i Otadžbinujunački boriti; da Vojničku zastavu nigdei nikad neću izneveriti i da ću zapovesti svihand Europe, and to lay down my life for this cause.I have confirmed this commitment on this day bytaking a sacred oath.I have been informed of my duties and rights asregards the official, disciplinary and economicaspects. Signature: … “The ceremony itself also bore witness to the contentsof the oath. A German soldier held a sword onwhich Home Guard members laid their left hands;they raised three fingers on their right hands and repeatedthe Slovenian part of the oath pronounced bytheir “auxiliary” commander – Lieutenant ColonelKrener. Beforehand, a German soldier read the oathin the German language. The following people were present at the firstoath-taking (see the photograph): German ConsulGeneral Müller, Croatian Consul Salih Baljić, SS-Ortsgruppenführer Grubitz, SS-StandartenführerSchimmelpfenig, Lieutenant Colonel Balke as aWehrmacht federal officer, SS-Lieutenant Generaland SS superior leader Erwin Rösener, and DivisionGeneral Leon Rupnik, president of the Province ofLjubljana. It is interesting to note that German officersonly came to the Ljubljana stadium, the place of theoath, after the end of mass which was conducted byBishop Gregorij Rožman, supposedly on the groundsof tactical and other reasons (or just the opposite, that bishop Rožman “withdrew” for special “political”reasons). However, none of this is true! The reasonis simply the fact that they only worshipped theGerman deity Julla and did not wish to be present ata Christian service. And here is the last piece of evidence regarding theissue of whom Home Guard members were directlysubordinate to. During the second oath-taking, inJanuary 1945, SS General Rösener personally readthe order for the promotion of the Slovenian HomeGuard commander, Lieutenant Colonel Franc Krener,to the rank of Colonel, Captain Vuk Rupnik to therank of Major, 44 officers to higher ranks, 3 sub-sergeantsto the ranks of sergeants, 50 corporals to theranks of sub-sergeants and 70 Home Guard membersto the ranks of corporals. He also presented all ofthem with written orders - documents. He distributedseveral decorations and badges for the wounded. The Iron Cross II. Class was awarded to Major VukRupnik and Captain Drago Furlan.Slovenian Chetniks (Blue Guard) – YugoslavArmy in the Homeland (1941–1945)Captain Uroš Šušterič, recently proclaimed ChetnikM I L I T A R Y H I S T O R Y • 151
