The words of HH Sheikh Tamim Bin
Hamad Al-Thani serve as an inspiration
for generations to come: “Qatar
deserves the best from its sons.” This
is a genuine call to all to influence a positive
change in society. Qatar National Day is your
chance to show love and care for your country
by offering the best you can for your country.
To be able to give the best for your country you
need to be self-motivated. Self-motivation is
the fuel that will power through the rest of your
life. It is a journey that can begin on this day.
What’s Self-motivation?
Self-motivation is when you do something
without influence or pressure from others. It
means you work at full speed without interruption,
because you have inner energy and
enthusiasm and are committed to your goals.
If you have this energy within your heart, then
you are a catalyst and are ready to drive a
transformational journey.
Why Do You Need this Quality?
Research proves that self-driven people spark
positive energy in the workplace. If you have
the self-motivation and commitment, you light
up the office, engage with the strategy and
align to the culture. You run by the minutes
with good time management skills. You begin
a project immediately and complete it successfully
with minimum supervision. Not only
this, but you take initiatives instead of waiting
for assignments.
As a result, your confidence grows with
every achievement. The more you believe in
yourself, the more enthusiastic you become
in pursuing your goals. You also feel more
in control of your life, and your emotional
intelligence improves. You can help your
colleagues, but you also know when and how
to say “Sorry, I can’t.”
How Can You Develop Self-motivation?
On the highway to the top, you need to speed
up. Fuel your inner energy with a life-changing
NLP pattern called “Accessing States”. It’s
very much like watching a movie. You are the
superhero and you will reach your goals. But
unlike every other superhero, it is your desire
that will make you succeed. So, how can you
upgrade to the next level?
Analyze the root causes of your lack of
motivation as a neutral observer. Draw
an imaginary circle on the ground. Then,
step out it and ask yourself why you hit the
snooze button of your alarm every morning
instead of getting up? Is it because you go
to bed after midnight?
Now that you know what puts you off,
consider alternative solutions. For example,
could you reschedule your day to get to
sleep earlier, or have an afternoon nap?
Evaluate each option and see how it will
influence your productivity.
Now, run the movie in your head and see
yourself arriving to the office on time. Talk to
yourself about the importance of self-discipline
and feel how it can transform your
life. Hear the applause as you receive the
Employee of the Year Award.
For sustainable change, take gradual steps.
Go to sleep at around 11pm for the first
month. The next month, try a little earlier,
10:30pm, and keep going until you reach
your desired outcome. Before you know it,
your life will be under your control.
Create a Well-rounded Lifestyle
Success will remain elusive if you don’t have a
well-balanced life. Make time for your family,
friends, hobbies; include some exercise into
your daily routine. This is how you truly show
commitment to serving your nation.
Qatar National Vision 2030 advocates
physically and mentally healthy people as part of
its human development. So if you feel lazy, find
a way to keep yourself motivated. Try to specify
your desired outcome in the format of a SMART
objective. Define the resources you need to
reach your goal. Then, analyze difficulties you
might face and how you can overcome them.
Make Qatar National Day an opportunity
to focus your inner strength to bring passion,
dedication and growth to Qatar. And remember:
incentives don’t have to be materialistic,
they can be motives, and the best incentive you
can ever have is your desire to succeed.
May Allah bless the country, its wise leadership
and great people.
Try this method and share it with your friends
on social media. Use the hashtag #connectincolors
A SMART
OBJECTIVE
IS:
Specific—be definite about what you
want to achieve. Ask yourself how you will
achieve this; what do you need to do to
reach your goal?
Measurable—identify exactly what it will
look like and feel like to achieve your goal.
Attainable—is your goal realistic and
attainable? Do you have the time and
resources to make this happen?
Relevant—how relevant is your goal to
you and your life?
Time-bound—setting at time limit will
keep you on track and motivate you.
