After the huge success of the World Choir Games 2014 - with 460 international choirs and 27,000 participants from 73 nations the largest World Choir Games ever – choirs from all over the world will again travel to Latvia to celebrate the 3rd European Choir Games and the Grand Prix of Nations Riga 2017. And with its impressive history of passionate singing, Riga is the ideal location for this event. Numerous of pedagogical offers, such as Individual Coachings and Evaluation Performances with well-known conductors complement the colorful concert program of the European Choir Games. Beside the broad range of competition and friendship concerts the participating choirs are invited to join the Festival Stage Choir. Welcome again to Riga!<br />
After the incredible success of the 8 th World <strong>Choir</strong> <strong>Games</strong> 2014 in the capital of<br />
the singing Latvian nation, I am delighted to welcome you back to Riga today.<br />
Almost 160 choirs have followed our invitation to the Grand Prix of Nations Riga<br />
<strong>2017</strong> and 3 rd <strong>European</strong> <strong>Choir</strong> <strong>Games</strong> and will again experience a fantastic festival<br />
of choir culture in the Olympic spirit. Singers from 30 countries will give<br />
an example that the world can only develop peacefully through coexistence and<br />
mutual respect for cultures.<br />
As always, our program is colorful and high-profile. It ranges from friendship<br />
concerts and competition in various categories to a large Sing Along Concert<br />
in the Riga Dome Cathedral. We are also cooperating with a new big <strong>European</strong><br />
television show to announce the “<strong>European</strong> <strong>Choir</strong> of the Year <strong>2017</strong>”.<br />
In this spirit, thanks to all institutions, partners and the INTERKULTUR team<br />
from all over the world.<br />
