After the huge success of the World Choir Games 2014 - with 460 international choirs and 27,000 participants from 73 nations the largest World Choir Games ever – choirs from all over the world will again travel to Latvia to celebrate the 3rd European Choir Games and the Grand Prix of Nations Riga 2017. And with its impressive history of passionate singing, Riga is the ideal location for this event. Numerous of pedagogical offers, such as Individual Coachings and Evaluation Performances with well-known conductors complement the colorful concert program of the European Choir Games. Beside the broad range of competition and friendship concerts the participating choirs are invited to join the Festival Stage Choir. A Sing Along Concert of the World Festival Singers<br />

International Sing Along Concerts are the artistic highlight of the most active part of the international choral<br />

scene. The project World Festival Singers started in 2015 and unites about 1,400 singers from all continents in<br />

spectacular performances of some of the masterpieces of the choral symphonic literature.<br />

These last few years, Sing Along Projects have been put on stage at the Berlin Philharmonic Hall, in Munich,<br />

Leipzig and Hamburg as well as internationally, in May 2014, at the National Concert Hall in Budapest and in<br />

May 2016 at the Wiener Konzerthaus.<br />

Latvian Festival Singers<br />

The Latvian guest choir consist of about 100 professionally educated singers from the renowned Latvian<br />

choirs “Maska“, “Jasmīnas Koris“ and „Vēja Balss“. <strong>Choir</strong> preparation: Mārtiņš Klišāns<br />

Latvian National Symphony Orchestra<br />

The Latvian National Symphony Orchestra (LNSO) is one of the valuable assets of the classical music scene in<br />

Latvia. It is a team of highly professional musicians with strong traditions, generous sound and devoted performance.<br />

The LNSO mainly focuses on 19 th and 20 th century orchestral masterpieces, classical and contemporary<br />

works of Latvian composers and occasionally concert performances of operas or musicals. The LNSO<br />

has won four Grand Music Awards, the highest classical music prize in Latvia – in 1993, 2009, 2012 and 2013.
