After the huge success of the World Choir Games 2014 - with 460 international choirs and 27,000 participants from 73 nations the largest World Choir Games ever – choirs from all over the world will again travel to Latvia to celebrate the 3rd European Choir Games and the Grand Prix of Nations Riga 2017. And with its impressive history of passionate singing, Riga is the ideal location for this event. Numerous of pedagogical offers, such as Individual Coachings and Evaluation Performances with well-known conductors complement the colorful concert program of the European Choir Games. Beside the broad range of competition and friendship concerts the participating choirs are invited to join the Festival Stage Choir. EUROVISION CHOIR OF THE YEAR <strong>2017</strong><br />
Eirovīzijas starptautisko konkursu ģimenei pievienojas<br />
jauns televīzijas talantu konkurss “Eirovīzijas Gada koris”,<br />
ko rīko Eiropas Raidorganizāciju apvienība (EBU).<br />
Tas papildinās Eirovīzijas projektu saimi, kuras galvgalī<br />
atrodas labi zināmais Eirovīzijas dziesmu konkurss.<br />
Pirmais starptautiskais televīzijas konkurss „Eirovīzijas<br />
Gada koris” notiks 22. jūlijā Latvijas galvaspilsētā Rīgā,<br />
Arēnā Rīga, un to organizēs Latvijas Televīzija (LTV) un<br />
Rīgas Tūrisma Attīstības Birojs (LIVE RIGA).<br />
Par titulu “Eirovīzijas gada koris” sacentīsies kori no<br />
deviņām EBU dalībvalstīm (Austrijas, Beļģijas, Dānijas,<br />
Igaunijas, Latvijas, Lielbritānijas, Slovēnijas, Ungārijas<br />
un Vācijas). Latvija un Velsa (Lielbritānija) izraudzījās<br />
savas valsts pārstāvi atlases konkursā nacionālajā<br />
televīzijā.<br />
Katrs koris izpildīs sešas minūtes garu programmu bez<br />
pavadījuma paša izvēlētā žanrā. Korus vērtēs starptautiska<br />
žūrija: Latvijas mecosoprāns Elīna Garanča, britu<br />
komponists Džons Raters (John Rutter) un Berlīnes<br />
Radio kora diriģents Nikolas Finks (Nicolas Fink).<br />
Konkursu vadīs Grammy balvas laureāts komponists un<br />
kordiriģents Ēriks Vitekers (Eric Whitacre) un Latvijas<br />
Televīzijas kultūras raidījumu vadītāja Eva Johansone.<br />
Izveidojot šo jauno ikgadējo konkursu, EBU un INTER-<br />
KULTUR cer turpināt partnerību arī turpmāko Eiropas<br />
Koru olimpiāžu un Pasaules koru olimpiāžu ietvarā.
