“CROSSING THE BRIDGES”
OFFICIAL SONG “CROSSING THE BRIDGES”
Komponists / Composer
Uldis Marhilevičs is a typical example of the best composers and song-writers
of the so-called Liepāja School, or Latvia’s west coast. Single-minded, emotional,
expressive and genuine. His roots are in rock music, 1970s art rock, jazz
rock and fusion. One of the characteristics which typifies Uldis is his ability to
combine musical styles, carrying over elements of rock music and pop music
to the forms and means of expression which are typical of classical music. As a
person, Uldis has always been able to get on the same wavelength with artists
of varying ages and character, and as a pianist, he has been one of the all-time
best for many years now in Latvia. He knows how to superbly interpret, not just
his own music, but the works of other composers as well.
