Teknolojik gelişmelerin sonucunda tekstil ve
hazırgiyim sektörlerinde pamuk tüketiminin
artışının sınırlı kaldığına işaret eden Eskinazi,
“İnsanların son yıllarda çok fazla tercih
ettiği spor kıyafetler polyester tüketimini
hızla arttırdı. 1975 yılında dünya genelinde
lif tüketiminde polyester yüzde 5 pay alırken,
bugün yüzde 67 seviyesine ulaştı. Bu artışı
durdurmak için pamuğun doğal, sürdürülebilir
ve yenilenebilir özelliklerini vurgulayan
tanıtım kampanyaları yapılmalı, pamuğun

Eskinazi, who pointed out that the increase of
cotton use in the textile and garment sectors
was limited as the result of technological developments,
said: “The sportswears that people
are favoring more in recent years have increased
the use of polyester significantly. While
polyester had a 5 percent portion of the fiber
consumption throughout the world in 1975,
