INTRODUCTION 简介STAYING AFLOAT INTURBULENT TIMES在动荡的时代渡过难关Our events have been impacted by thisunprecedented situation. When I launched theinaugural summit back in 2013, I faced greatchallenges as a start-up. Nothing, however, quite preparesyou for a situation where you have to let go of your lastsquad members and contractors - not because they aren’tdelivering - but because it’s what’s needed to protectthe livelihood of everyone else through the storm. In amatter of days our board meetings turned from discussingadventurous growth to survival.Here’s how our events are being shaped by this crisis;• We’re not looking back. In 2019 we took the bolddecision to expand into Asia because the industry ishungry for growth outside Europe’s saturated markets.So I decided to stay in Manila and grow the team here.We postponed our inaugural June 2020 show to May2021, which essentially gives us an extra 11 months tocurate a kickass inaugural summit in Asia.• It’s high time that we bring our two shows (SiGMA andAIBC) closer together and allow both sides to learn fromone other. The two sides stand to benefit by having bothshows held together under one roof on the same dates.• You can’t quite replace the holistic experience of asummit like ours with a virtual meetup. However, we’verealised that the two can coexist.
