Sexy Tourist
I don’t consider it paying for sex. It’s being
liberal, redistribution of wealth if you get my
drift. Obviously I need to say of course I only
advocate consensual adult sex. But I do advocate
a lot of it, far more that you expected
and far more then you think you need. But
with and by consenting adults only please.
And you can site this article that advocates
the mutual enjoyment of sex.
But let’s face it with exception of Palm
Springs and a few other places, you would
think sex is sinful or bad. Also not in pubic,
for some reason adults have been known to
melt away if they happened upon a wet dripping
erect cock. And not in a good way.
A gay gentleman’s club is generally safe, and
it is easy to tell if it’s legit or something more
sinister. It’s not about going someplace and
getting discounted sex. It’s really about traveling
the world finding and meeting different
cultures, life styles and leaning to respect
them, as they fuck your brains out for 24
straight hours for about 40 bucks US dollars.
Lest talk about gay Pattaya. Pattaya is a town
on Thailand’s eastern Gulf coast known for
a wild nightlife scene with hotels running
about $30 per night still! That translates into
every day, literally thousands of young men,
between 18 and about 28 years old, are for
hire in not just at night, but 24 hours a day.
There are more than 15 gay “go go clubs” on
the streets of Boyztown, and more than 18 of
them in the Sunee Plaza area, and there are
more in the Jomtien Beach area. Plus on the
street and the endless number of “male massage”
establishments.
From Brazil’s “rent boy saunas” to gay nightclub
cum “ red light district” like, Boyztown
Pattaya, Jomtien Beach and Sunee Plaza, I
have seen it all. When I used to be a corporate
engineer, I got to travel everywhere but Just a little information so when you go-go,
my social presence was not required, nor was you don’t stare like a novice at hot jock
the fact that I hung out in some of best/worse strapped men with your mouth wide open.
places in the world. There is an upside to Those men are all mostly available, because
adult sexual tourism as well, Its also important
there is no stigma. No one is offended to be
to understand that sexual mores of some thought a sex worker. Also each bar has one
THE NEW FACE OF PRIDE
June is pride month, as this article’s focus is
only on LA pride. I think the Palm Springs
Pride is different then most of the nation,
in that we are a gay community, a tourist
destination and a decidedly more elder
community.
LA and most major cities are both like
Palm Springs and we probably don’t have
the same issues each year.
LA Pride 2016 runs June 10 through 12,
2016 at West Hollywood Park (647 N San
Vicente Blvd). The parade kicks off on June
12 at 11am. It runs along Santa Monica
Boulevard from Crescent Heights to Robertson.
Three-day general admission tickets are
$55 before June 3 and $60 after. VIP passes
cost $125 before June 3 and $150 after.
Single day tickets will be available starting
June 3. The largest price increase in 10
years.
BUT WHO IS GOING?
The world changes often. Some days it
seems like in a way that is natural and
others more helter shelter. But this Pride
month has started and some people are
already over it.
Recently the story was “LA Pride has sold
out and become ‘gay Coachella,’ critics say”
The short answer is no one sold out. When
we look at the bigger picture everything is
changing. It’s not just the climate, Blanche,
it’s all changing. Fifteen years ago I wrote
in this DDG about the claim gay bars will
be gone in 15 years. But the only surprise
was that there was no surprise. Gay bars
took a hit for be sure, but they remained
strong. We made changes, in some places
we have gone from jock nights to bridal
showers, but we adjusted. Those that faint
at the sight and smell of a straight woman
and those that love their token straight
friends have also changed. Its like going
from high school to college classrooms
and schedules became more tailored to
what your focus is, but some classes are
mandatory. Happily the queer choir is still
singing, the flamboyant gay guy is still sitting
at the end of the bar casting shade on
everyone that walks in like “she think she
Joan rivers. “
If anyone was at the first LA Pride and
actually remembers, we would love to
interview you our upcoming Pride. The
first LA pride parade in 1970 and many
feared it was an invitation to assault. In
fact some of the organizers I knew from
the Christopher street west called it a
license to hunt gays. They got booed,
some tomatoes, but mostly it felt like a
real movement. One year after Stonewall
Inn riots and it was still fresh in everyone’s
minds. They chose the name Christopher
Street West as the producing group,
because of Stonewall. It’s better to go this
year because a big part of that commitment
to stonewall is leaving, an new generation
will define what it is.
KEITH HARING - GAY ARTIST AND ACTIVIST
The design of logos is overlooked regarding
the significance they play in
selling and branding for products and
people.
During the last political campaign this
article looked at the history of campaign
logos during the past century. As the
presidential campaign is about to commence
with the
party conventions in the next couple of
months logos will become more visually
prevalent.
At this time the three contenders in the
Republican and Democratic campaigns
are
Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, Democratic
Party, and Donald Trump for
the Republican party. The logos that
are presently being used may be modified
or completely revised after the final
contenders are selected after the party
conventions.
logo at this time, is just the words “Make
America Great Again”, without any
officially adopted logo design. Most of
these Trump slogans are found on red
baseball caps.
Included are samples of the logos presently
being used. After the conventions
are over we will have another article on
the officially adopted logos for the presidential
contenders for each party with
more behind the scene information on
the artists involved.
Questions, comments, suggestions
please contact at adamsartexpose@
Bernie Sander’s logo at this time is the
wave with the word “Bernie 2016”, his
slogan is “Feel The Bern”. Hillary Clinton’s
logo is a large square H with an
arrow as the center line. Her slogan is
“Hillary For America”,Lloyd Trump’s
West Hollywood Pride became the darling
of the Pride celebration. A multi-day festival
celebrating lesbian, gay, bisexual and
transgender people. And at the forefront of
every LGBT crisis from AIDS crisis to
same-sex marriage.
We still have much to do in advocation,
protecting and awareness of LGBT issues.
As Christopher Street West looks for a new
way to revitalize this important event and
appeal to the millennials. More concerts
raising ticket prices and, cutting time on
free events dedicated to transgender people
and lesbians.
They called it “gay Coachella,” organized
under the moniker #NotOurPride. and
the organizers attempted to resolve some
issues.
“What they have done is a blatant commercialization
of Pride and a disregard of Los
Angeles’ LGBT community’s history and
legacy,” said Peter Cruz, associate director
of the Asian Pacific AIDS Intervention
Team, which has spearheaded the protests.
And many groups have threatened to boycott.
younger than 34, Classen also said.
Ultimately it becomes a question of utility.
At a time when transgender rights are
being challenged amid national discussions
about restroom access. Access to needed
resources like free HIV testing.
If we begin to marginalize communities
within communities, use and economic
gate to deny access and begin to teeter to
far to one side, it is entirely possible Pride
will represent a different community meaning
and we will be left with no way to reach
the gay comminty and our own issues
within the larger LGBTqi community. We
as a society need to remain vigilant as care
takers of our Pride celebrations.
is what has helped keep the Pride
parade and festival relevant for more than
four decades.” The facts bear that out In Seen (left to right) are Todd, Millicent & Bijou celebrating
THAT IS FUNNY
Whenever your ex says, “You’ll never find someone like me,” the answer to that is, “That’s the point.”
Light travels faster than sound. This is why some people appear bright until you hear them speak.
Did you hear about the two bald guys who put their heads together? They made an ass out of themselves!
A lady comes home from her doctor’s appointment grinning from ear to ear. Her husband asks, “Why are
you so happy?” The wife says, “The doctor told me that for a forty-five year old woman, I have the breasts
of a twenty year old.” “Oh yeah?” quipped her husband, “What did he say about your forty-five year old
ass?” She said, “Your name never came up in the conversation.”
An old teacher asked a student, “If I say, ‘I am beautiful,’ which tense is that?” The student replied, “It is
obviously past.
Whats Donald Trump’s favorite nation? Discrimination.
WEEKLY GUIDE TO THE STARS
ARIES: March 21 - April 20
Your Apocalyptic outcome: mutant.
Sure, you glow in the dark
and you’re ugly as all sin, but hey,
regenerative powers! Cool!
TAURUS: April 21 - May 19
Your Apocalyptic outcome: blindness.
So the blasts that ensued
sort of left you blind.
GEMINI: May 20 - June 21
Your Apocalyptic outcome: superpowers.
The radiation from all
the heat has turned you into the
next coming of Superman.
CANCER: June 22 - July 22
Your Apocalyptic outcome:
scavenger. You spend your days
hunting what’s left of the forests
for meat from super-ants, and
three-headed deer.
LEO: July 23 - August 22
Your Apocalyptic outcome: raider.
You get to wear funky BSDM
outfits with spikes attached, wave
chains around, and howl at whatever
comes across your path.
VIRGO: August 23 - Sept. 22
Your Apocalyptic outcome: some
kind of leader. I mean, someone’s
got to be in charge.
LIBRA: Sept. 23 - October 22
Your Apocalyptic outcome:
winged creature. For some reason
there was a hitch in evolution,
and you now have wings.
SCORPIO: October 23 - Nov. 21
Your Apocalyptic outcome: gatherer.
So not everyone can be a
cool hunter. People need to weed
out the poison berries.
SAGITTARIUS: Nov. 22 - Dec. 20
Your Apocalyptic outcome: mass
of globules. Yeah, you get to be
pure energy. You’re so damn special,
aren’t you? Whatever.
CAPRICORN: Dec. 21 - Jan. 19
Your Apocalyptic outcome: Post
Office worker. Look, someone
needs to do the job of getting
mail from one place to the other.
AQUARIUS: Jan 20 - Feb. 18
Your Apocalyptic outcome:
demigod. Granted, you can shoot
lightning out of your fingertips
and can float five feet off the
ground. Cool, right?
PISCES: Feb 19 - March 20
Your Apocalyptic outcome: worm
food. What, did you really think
everyone was gonna survive?
THE LAST WORD by Greg Pettis
Well I finished my soul searching last
Sunday, June 5 (two days before primary)
and pledged my super delegate vote to
Hillary Clinton. If you have been reading
this column you know I met with Bernie
Sanders twice, but I also had the opportunity
to meet with Hillary Clinton.
I was invited to her rally in San Bernardino
and then she and I had a private
meeting after her speech. I specifically
spoke to her about the need for significant
federal investment in passenger rail
service, not just high speed rail, but long
distance rail. We also discussed the need
for a strong Office of Urban Affairs in
the White House, staffed with people that
can really address the needs of cities of all
sizes and their residents.
She was engaged, interested in the discussion
and able to talk to the issue I
brought up. I had been torn between Sen
Sanders passion and Secretary Clinton’s
experience. At the end, I had to look at
experience, ability to lead our country,
work with Congress and actually make
things happen. Ultimately, that made my
decision easy.
Now that the primary season is effectively
over regardless of which candidate
you were backing, now all of us must
get behind Hillary Clinton. There is no
question who will stand up for our rights.
Mr Trump has already stated he wants to
roll back our right to marriage. What else
would we have to look forward too.
Outside of politics, the Greater Palm
Springs Visitors and Convention Bureau
is taking their program on the road visiting
city councils throughout the valley
talking about their marketing plans for
the valley; including air and rail service.
Check out their videos on their website
www.visitgreaterpalmsprings.com
Cathedral City is about to celebrate its
35th anniversary in November. The
annual balloon festival will be held then
and several jazz concerts, one featuring
Diane Schurr, local jazz great. Begin to
look for advertising on this as you will not
want to miss it. At the same time we will
be dedicating a significant art piece honoring
another great Cathedral City music
legend, Lalo Guerrero.
We are in summer now, but nothing is
slowing down! Enjoy the heat and all that
the valley has to offer
Greg Pettis is a 22 year city councilman in Cathedral
City. He has made his name in governmental circles
as an expert in transportation issues and is very active
in working on bringing passenger rail service to the
COACHELLA Valley. Greg was the first openly gay
elected city council members In Riverside County. He
has served on the boards of the National League of
Cities and the League of California Cities and as President
of the Southern CA Association of Governments.
