Copenhagen Gay Guide<br />
In Copenhagen, almost all gay places<br />
are located within walking distance<br />
of each other. In the listings below,<br />
all places are in the inner city, unless<br />
otherwise mentioned.<br />
According to Danish law, smoking<br />
in bars, cafés, clubs and restaurants<br />
is only allowed in designated smoking<br />
areas and in bars with a serving<br />
area of less than 40 square metres.<br />
On page 56 you can see the smoking<br />
policy at different places and choose<br />
for yourself whether you prefer to<br />
party with or without cigarettes.<br />

Amigo Bar is a mixed bar with many<br />
gay customers. It is located in Frederiksberg<br />
only a short taxi ride from Copenhagen<br />
city centre.<br />
Café Intime is a mixed and authentic<br />
piano bar in Frede riksberg.<br />

Can-Can is a traditional gay bar,<br />
not too big, and without attitude. The<br />
service is friendly, and it is easy to start<br />
a conversation with most guests.<br />
Centralhjørnet is the oldest gay<br />
bar in Copenhagen, but also one of<br />
the liveliest pubs on Copenhagen’s<br />
gay scene, appealing to both young<br />
guys and mature men.<br />
Cosy Bar is a lively place, both during<br />
the nights and the early morning<br />
hours. It is well known as a very good<br />
place to pick up guys, either by the<br />
long bar or at the dance floor.<br />
Gimmick Bar & Café is lesbianowned<br />
and attracts both gay men<br />
and lesbians. It is located in Vesterbro,<br />
by the Central Station, and provides<br />
access to internet and magazines.<br />
Jailhouse has barred windows and<br />
small cells where the guests can sit<br />
and enjoy a beer or a drink together<br />
with friends. Jailhouse is popular and<br />
often hosts special events.<br />
Jernbanecafeen, next to the Central<br />
Station, is an authentic and mixed<br />
bar, especially popular amongst gays<br />
who want to keep the party going<br />
into the weekend morning hours.<br />
Kafe Knud is a nice café for people<br />
affected by HIV. It is open Tuesdays,<br />
Wednesdays, and Thursdays.<br />
Masken Bar attracts both young<br />
and mature men as well as lesbian<br />
customers. The atmosphere is very<br />
easygoing, and Masken Bar provides<br />
free internet access.<br />
Men’s Bar is for men only. There is<br />
no strict dress code, but rather a very<br />
easy-going atmosphere among the<br />
staff and the customers.<br />
Never Mind is a night bar open until<br />
very late.<br />
