Abstract in English:
This study of conservator’s information practices is carried out in a practice-theoretical
perspective. The focus is on the understandings, rules and teleoaffektive structures that
underlie the participating conservator’s actions in relation to identifying suitable
information resources to either exploratory information search or to find a solution to a
specific preservation problem. It also examines how these mental structures governs the
validation, use and sharing of information. The study concludes that the conservator's
information practices are an integral part of the preservation working practices, and thus
helps to form the social order created in the intersection of interwoven practices.
Participating conservators have a homogeneous understanding of the information
resources that are useful in their search for research based information, where the
information found is validated against and used within the conservator's Code of Ethics.
