VANESSA SANNINO
Vanessa Sannino wurde 1980 in Mailand geboren. Von Jugend an von der Malerei fasziniert, schloss
sie ihr Studium Bühnenbild und Kostümdesign an der Akademie der schönen Künste in Mailand
ab. Seitdem arbeitete sie unter anderem am Teatro alla Scala und an der Comédie Française, wo
sie für ihre Arbeit den prix Molière erhielt. An der Wiener Staatsoper entwarf Vanessa Sannino die
Kostüme für Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny. Aus dieser Produktion stammt der Entwurf,
der als Vorlage für das diesjährige Opernballplakat gedient hat. Momentan studiert sie Malerei in
Turin und gestaltet für kommenden Mai die Kostüme für Marouf an der Opéra comique in Paris.
Vanessa Sannino was born in Milan in 1980. Being fascinated by the art of painting from an early
age, she graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Milan where she studied stage-set design and
costume design. Since then she has been working i. a. at the Teatro alla Scala and the Comédie
Française where she was awarded the Prix Molière for her work. For the Wiener Staatsoper she
designed the costumes for the production of Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny. The idea
for this year’s Opera Ball poster is based on one of the designs used for this production. At present
Vanessa Sannino studies painting in Turin. She will design the costumes for Marouf to be
performed at the Opéra Comique in Paris in May.
