Below this chapel, there has been news of
the remains of walls since construction projects
in the period between the two world wars. In
1974 an approximately 6 m long arching section
of wall was uncovered during the construction
of a house, which according to Sándor Soproni
was a fan shaped corner tower.
We know of fragmentary stamped
Frigeridus dux bricks from here, on the basis of
which the building could be from the
Valentinian era (364-375).
A footpath with the Stations of the Cross
on both sides leads up to the chapel.
Boundaries of core and buffer zones:
The core zone corresponds to the area of the
properties under archaeological protection. The
buffer zone includes the lots on the northern
slope of the hill, since it is not probable that the
building would have only stretched along one
side of the hill. The buffer zone has been
extended to the north, south and west along the
property boundaries up to the road that goes
around the hill, and to the east the border is the
boundary of the property next to the eastern
border of the core zone.
