Gibt es diese Landschaft wirklich oder ist es die Erfahrung von<br />
stillen Beobachtungen und Stimmungen, von einer Melancholie,<br />
wie sie das Elbtal im Zwielicht von Sommer und Herbst,<br />
von Tag und einbrechender Dunkelheit bereithält? Mit eingehenden<br />
Landschaftsgemälden in der malerischen Region um<br />
das Städtchen Meißen hat uns Johannes Rudolf Hentschel<br />
(1869–1951) berührt. Seinem Bruder Julius Konrad Hentschel<br />
(1872–1907) verdanken wir die berühmten Hentschelkinder.<br />
Vielleicht sucht sich die Zeit selbst einen Platz zum Verweilen,<br />
die betörende Natur der Elblandschaft mit ihrem ruhig dahinfließenden<br />
Fluss könnte gewiss solch ein Ort sein. Die Maler der<br />
Manufaktur MEISSEN kennen diese Gegend und das bewegte<br />
Schauspiel der Natur – sie lässt die Farben über die Landschaft<br />
fließen, die Maler halten die Momente fest und verschmelzen<br />
sie mit großer Sinnlichkeit auf der Glasur.<br />

Does this landscape actually exist or is it merely a reflection<br />
of quietly observed events and moods, of the sense of melancholy<br />
that can fill the Elbe Valley in the twilight between summer and<br />
autumn, between daylight and the onset of darkness? Johannes<br />
Rudolf Hentschel (1869–1951) strikes a chord with the landscapes<br />
he so sympathetically painted, all from the picturesque<br />
region around the little city of Meissen. We have his brother<br />
Julius Konrad Hentschel (1872–1907) to thank for the famous<br />
Hentschel Children. Should Old Father Time be looking for<br />
his own place to tarry, the exhilarating countryside along the<br />
peacefully flowing river Elbe might be just the job. Painters at<br />
the MEISSEN Manufactory know the area and the vibrant show<br />
that Nature puts on there – bathing the scenery in colour so<br />
our painters can capture special moments and vey sensuously<br />
fuse them onto the glaze.<br />
