The most precious cashmere from the Himalayas, the finest
camel down from mongolia, the most delicate silk from China,
fluffy-soft merino sheep’s wool from France: this list of exclusive
raw materials HEFEL Textil relies on in producing its bedding
also includes TEnCEL ® fibers manufactured by Lenzing, quite
justifiably. Since 1998 HEFEL has been using TEnCEL ® to produce
high quality bedding, thus safeguarding the more than 100
year success path of the family-owned enterprise.
At the end of the 1980s the following event caused a major
uproar in Europe’s home textiles industry. At the annual
“Heimtextil” trade show in Frankfurt in 1989, Asian producers
were represented for the first time with downproof fabrics, socalled
ticking. The fears of industry experts in Europe became
reality more quickly than expected. Asia already took over as
cost leaders at the beginning of the 1990s. by the end of the
decade Asia already controlled 90% of the global market on
the basis of their constant improvements in quality. over the
years this development put numerous European producers
out of business.
Forward-looking strategy
in the light of this market development, HEFEL Textil refused
to hide under the bed sheets and simply wait to see what
„Heimtextil“ in Frankfurt waren 1989 erstmals asiatische
