The discussion of the teachers’ work has to do with a course taken by
all pupils at upper secondary school, regardless of educational programme:
the course Music within the core subject Artistic Activities.
Aim
The main aim is to acquire an understanding of five teachers’ views of
the course Music within the core subject Artistic Activities in the Swedish
upper secondary school. What is the content of the course, how is the
course taught and what do the teachers regard as the goal of the course?
A further aim is to describe the five teachers personal experiences of music
in various social, educational and musical contexts, and how these
experiences affect their teaching.
