26 Februar 7AB Go USA More than a year of intensive preparations have made it possible to set off on an exciting journey through the USA from January 31 to February 22, 2013. On our three week adventure, we (25 students and two teachers) visited New York, Yale University, Boston, Salem, Amish County, Stafford (where we stayed with host families for five days and attended the local high school), Washington DC, the Everglades, Sarasota, Orlando (Universal Studios), Daytona Beach, St. Augustine, Savannah and Atlanta. It was an incredible time – a big thank you to Mrs. Stolz for accompanying us, to my friend Brian, who had come all the way from Los Angeles to spend the weekend with us and give the students even more opportunities to practice their English, and to all the students who contributed to making this trip an unforgettable one. Miriam Feichter We will never forget this amazing time in the USA and we can’t thank our two teachers enough for all these experiences. They worked hard to make this adventure possible and I am really proud that I was part of this awesome America trip. (Stefanie Mollnar) Visiting Atlanta, drinking coke, getting information about the CNN Studios, touching sharks and cheering to our favorite basketball team, made this day one of the most memorable ones… (Albert Steiner, Robert Schlager) Have YOU ever seen one of the most beautiful beaches in the US Well, we have! After two great days in Orlando, we drove with our favorite bus driver William (ok, he did the driving) to St. Augustine. On our way there, we stopped at one of the most gorgeous beaches – Daytona Beach. The sunshine, the blue sky, the white sand and the huge ocean – it was just amazing! (Sarah Oppeneiger, Mariella Seiwald) It was great having you guys at my house. After you left, I could not tell that I had just hosted 25 teenagers. You were wonderful guest, my students loved you guys, and everyone is asking about you. Glad you made it home ok, and hope to see you again in the future. All the best! (Ulrike Lamb, American host) You can’t imagine what we have done today! We’ve just had the coolest school day ever! We went to MV High School for the first time and it was just like what we had thought it would be like, High School Musical! ... Everybody enjoyed the first day and we finished it with a home cooked Mexican meal with an awesome “Mexican Ice Cream” in it which was fried vanilla ice cream in cinnamon dough. This meal with the nicest family ever led us to a nearly three hours conversation about Austrian proms, food, stereotypes and just everything you can imagine! (Stefanie Mollnar, Julia Steinacher, Saskia Schaar)
