Makesure protective caps are in place or connectors areplugged together.6. Check and replace any worn or damagedcomponents, such as cutting edges, deflectors, andbushings.• DO NOT use abrasive or highly alkaline cleaners onpolycarbonate blade.• Never scrape polycarbonate blade with squeegees, razor blades or other sharp instruments.• Benzene, gasoline, acetone or carbon tetrachlorideshould never be used on polycarbonate blade.• DO NOT clean polycarbonate blade in hot sun or atelevated temperatures.c CAUTION• Using the proper oil increases the lifeexpectancy of the most critical part of yourplow; the hydraulic power unit.• Failure to use the proper oil can causeextensive damage to the power unit, seals andhydraulic cylinders.NOTE: We recommend cleaning the filter screen at everyoil change; this will help ensure maximum life and maximumperformance from the pump assembly.Wash with a mild soap or detergent and luke-warm waterusing a clean cloth or soft sponge. Dry thoroughly with achamois or moist cellulose sponge to prevent water spots.IMPORTANT: Hydraulic unit comes from factoryshipped with type 5606 hydraulic oil. If additional oilis added it must be compatible with Type 5606.It is recommended that the fluid in the hydraulic system bechanged once a season.NOTE: Type 5606 oil is rated to -60 deg. F, when Type5606 is not available Exxon UNIVIS J13 or equivalentmay be used.Do NOT use synthetic oil.Oil must contain an anti-foam additive.c WARNING• Allow the system to cool down before drainingoil or handling system components. Burns canresult from contact with hot oil.• Never disconnect any hydraulic line or fittingwith the plow in the raised position. Alwayslower the plow and relieve pressure beforeremoving any lines or caps.FAILURE TO FOLLOW CAN RESULT IN INJURYOR DEATH1. Move plow to a clean, dry area with a solid surface.Lower the plow to the ground, put vehicle in park, turn offthe engine and vehicle ignition, set the park brake, andturn off the plow controller.2.
