Hiking on Jasmund Peninsula<br />
The high cliff path along the chalk coast on Jasmund peninsula belongs<br />
to the ten most popular hiking destinations in Germany. Whoever sets off<br />
for the 8km long tour from <strong>Sassnitz</strong> to Königsstuhl, may experience what<br />
Rügen citizens already know: On the way to the famous Rügen icon one<br />
enjoys magnificent views onto to the chalk cliff and the Baltic Sea. Who<br />
wishes to learn more about the national park, participates at a free guided<br />
tour with a national park ranger or joins a tour prepared by the environmental<br />
pedagogues of KÖNIGSSTUHL visitors’ centre, for instance to the<br />
ancient beech forests. A walk from Lohme to Bisdamitz and back might<br />
take about four hours and will be rewarded by impressive views never to<br />

via brochures. Past brooks and orchid meadows, along steep stairways<br />
and forest trails with breath-taking sights of the sea, this tour along Tromper<br />

Bodden, lake Spyker, the fishing hamlet Polchow, or lead to the Schaabe.<br />
Around the former chalk quarry in Gummanz there is a nature trail ending<br />
at the so-called “Little Königsstuhl” with a viewpoint. Just a few steps off<br />
the road to Nardevitz there is an impressing ancient sacrifice stone.<br />
