im Rahmen von u19 – CREATE YOUR WORLD einladen.
Limelight is a three-dimensional public interaction game that undergrads
in Hagenberg’s Interactive Media and Digital Arts program invite visitors
to u19 – CREATE YOUR WORLD to play. The chief protagonist of this
game set in a magical world is a little wizard attempting to make his
way through the darkness to his destination. Eerily glowing goblins are
his allies—but behind them are none other than the players, whom a
tracking system depicts as balls of light. On the other hand, a cell phone
is all anyone needs to put obstacles in the wizard’s way—a simple SMS
suffices to bring monsters into play.
formidable intellectual achievements of the mapmakers who drew them up.
Für sein Einpersonenstück Voice Box hat sich
UdK-Sound-Studies-Student Damian Rebgetz
umgetan. In dieser tummeln sich HeldInnen, die
mit übermenschlichen Schwingungen – sogenannten
Sonic Screams – wahlweise fliegen, etwas
explodieren lassen wie auch jemanden retten oder
verstümmeln können. Auf sehr persönliche Art
stellt Rebgetz den Comic-HeroInnen seine eigene
Biografie und seine Versuche gegenüber, selbst ein
Sonic Superhero zu werden.
To gather material for his one-man-show “Voice
Box,” Damian Rebgetz (AU), an undergrad in
the UdK’s Sound Studies program, went on an
acoustic excursion in the world of comics. This is
the turf of heroes and heroines with the power
to deploy superhuman vibes—so-called sonic
screams—that enable them to fly at will, blow
stuff up, rescue somebody or mutilate them. In a
highly personal way, Rebgetz contrasts the comic
heroes to his own biography and his own efforts
to become a sonic superhero.
