Das Besondere an seinem Handwerk ist, dass dieses ca. 10-12
Berufe umfasst. So muss man sich in der Materie eines Drechslers,
Schreiners und Schwachstromelektrikers auskennen – um
nur ein paar Wenige zu nennen. Er hat an insgesamt 30 Orgeln
mitgewirkt, doch sein selbst gebautes, größtes Werk ist die Orgel
in St. Josef in Grombühl (Würzburg). Herr Elenz ist ein besonderer
Mann, der immer eine sinnvolle Beschäftigung sucht:
»Wenn ich nichts zu tun hab‘, ist das mehr Straf‘ als sonst was,
ich könnte nicht wie ein anderer alter Opa irgendwo auf dem
Sessel hocken. Ich muss irgendwie was tun und vor allem was
Produktives, was Sinn macht.« Und mit seinem Handwerk des
Orgelbaumeisters gelingt ihm dies tagtäglich.
What is special about his craft is that it comprises about 10-12 professions.
So, one must know the matters of a turner, a carpenter
and a low current electrician – to name only a few. He has worked
on a total of 30 organs, but the largest work he built on his own is
the organ in St. Josef in Grombühl (Würzburg). Mr. Elenz is a remarkable
man who is always looking for a meaningful occupation:
«If I don‘t have anything to do, it‘s more of a punishment than anything
else. I couldn‘t sit anywhere on my armchair like any other old
grandpa. I have to do something somehow and, above all, something
productive that has a meaning to it.» And with his craftsmanship
as an organ builder, he succeeds in this every day.
