Unser schönes Frankenland
Schäufele, Boxbeutel und »Bassd scho« – ein Jeder weiß, wo
wir uns befinden, natürlich in Franken. Für Auswärtige mögen
wir Franken als ein sonderbares Volk gelten: Wir legen Wert auf
unsere Identität und feiern einmal im Jahr offiziell den »Tag der
Franken«. Wir haben den Frankenwürfel, eine Auszeichnung, die
nur Menschen bekommen, die als typisch fränkisch gelten. Wenn
wir reden, versteht uns auch nicht jeder. Bei »Babbädeggl«,
»Babbm« und »Düüd’n« fällt dazu noch auf, dass es keinen Unterschied
zwischen »t« und »d« oder »p« und »b« gibt. Und wir sind
erfinderisch, haben selbst Wörter, für die es keine hochdeutsche
Übersetzung gibt: »fei«. Doch alles in allem sind wir vor allem
eins: glücklich. Und genau deshalb ist es wunderbar, dass das
schöne Frankenland Teil unseres Projekts ist.
«Schäufele», «Boxbeutel» and «Bassd scho» – after hearing these
words, it’s clear to everyone where we currently are located, it’s Franconia.
To others we might seem a bit weird: our identity is important
to us and therefore we like to celebrate the «Franconian Day».
Adding up to that we like to award the «Frankwenwürfel», a prize
for typical Franconian people. For most people it’s quite difficult to
understand us Franconians because of our dialect. «Babbädeggl»,
«Babbm» and «Düüd’n» are just a few examples of how strange we
like to pronounce a lot of words. Seeing that, it becomes clear that
there really is no difference between «t» and «d» or «p» and «b».
But it becomes better than that, here in Franconia we even like to
use words than don’t have a High German translation, e. g. «fei».
But nonetheless we mainly are one thing: happy. And exactly because
of that we loved integrating Franconia into our project.
