Es liegt in einem Neubaugebiet, mit Blick auf eine nahe
Streuobstwiese voller Apfelbäume und lässt den Duft
des Frühlings durch die Fenster wehen. Für die junge
Familie war es ein besonderer Glücksfall, das Grundstück
zu erobern. Im Herzen Skandinaviens haben sie
ihr Familiendomizil gebaut. „Das viele Holz das wir
verwendet haben, gibt uns und unserer Tochter ein
natürliches und harmonisches Zuhause“, erzählt uns
Marie, Josies Mutter. „Darüber hinaus, sorgt Holz für
ein gesundes Raumklima“, meint sie.
Große Fenster bringen Natur und Licht
in die Räume, als wäre alles ein großes
Baumhaus. „Kindergarten und Schule
sind im Ort und ohne Auto erreichbar“,
ergänzt der Hausherr, der mit seiner
Lockenpracht fast aussieht wie einer,
der sich gleich die E-Gitarre umhängt.
Die Küche ist offen und kommunikativ,
so eine Art Werkstatt für Kochen und
Leben. Dabei sehen der Koch- und Esstisch tatsächlich
wie eine Werkbank aus. „Hat uns gleich gefallen – ist
auf geniale Art einfach und authentisch wie wir“, sagt
Peter. Schöner kann man das Design des Kochtisches
nicht beschreiben. Vielleicht lässt sich noch eins hinzufügen:

It is part of a new development, with views of a nearby fruit
meadow packed with apple trees, and allows the scent of
spring to float in through the windows. The young family
were particularly lucky to get the plot. They have built their
family home in the heart of Scandinavia. “The huge amounts

of wood that we have used have created a natural and
harmonious home for us as a family”, says Marie, Josie’s
mother. “Wood also provides a healthy indoor environment”,
she believes. Large windows allow nature and light
into the rooms as though the whole place were a huge tree
house. “The area has a nursery and a school that can both
be reached without a car”, adds her husband, whose long,
wavy hair almost makes him look as though he should grab
an electric guitar any second now. The kitchen has an openplan
layout and facilitates communication; a kind of workshop
for cooking and living. In fact, the cooking and dining
table actually looks like a workbench. “We instantly loved
it – it’s ingeniously simple and authentic, just like us”, says
Peter. There could be no nicer way of describing the cooking
table’s design. Perhaps we could add one thing though: it
invites people to cook together.
