Fashion shows radiate a unique kind of magic. That feeling of having your<br />
finger directly on the pulse makes fashion fans crazy about these displays<br />
put on by the world’s top designers. Here are three popular shows:<br />
Berlin Fashion Week<br />
It’s an open secret that trend scouts from<br />
abroad buzz around Berlin’s fashionable<br />
areas looking for inspiration to take back<br />
to the catwalks of milan and Paris. So<br />
why not put on a fashion event right here?<br />
That’s exactly what the founders of Berlin<br />
Fashion Week thought. using alternative<br />
showrooms like the Brandenburg Gate<br />
and Tempelhof Airport, after two years<br />
everyone agrees: there’s still a long way to<br />
go before Berlin joins the ranks of milan,<br />
Paris and London, but the show has successfully<br />
established itself as an outstanding<br />
showcase for unconventional and progressive<br />
fashion.<br />
Es ist ein offenes Geheimnis, dass Trendscouts<br />
aus dem Ausland in die Berliner Szenebezirke<br />
ausschwirren, um sich für neue Kreationen auf<br />
den Laufstegen von Mailand und Paris inspirieren<br />
zu lassen. »Warum also nicht gleich<br />
vor Ort ein Modeereignis ins Leben rufen?«,<br />
dachten sich die Initiatoren der Berlin Fashion<br />
Week. Jetzt – nach zwei Durchläufen mit so<br />
ungewöhnlichen Showrooms wie dem Brandenburger<br />
Tor oder dem Flughafen Tempelhof<br />
- sind sich alle einig: Bis in die Liga von Mailand,<br />
Paris und London ist es noch ein weiter<br />
Weg, aber die Schauen haben sich als großartiges<br />
Schaufenster für unkonventionelle und progressive<br />
Mode erfolgreich etabliert.<br />

Bread & Butter Barcelona<br />
At the beginning Bread & Butter was seen<br />
as an amusing but chaotic event. Now after<br />
relocating twice people have changed<br />
their mind. Having grown 20 percent a<br />
year, it’s become one of the most successful<br />
fashion shows around. That’s primarily<br />
due to the original concept: Bread & Butter<br />
takes up where other fashion events<br />
leave off. Instead of sterile stalls, visitors<br />
find cool mini-locations each in a different<br />
style filled with clothing, shoes and accessories<br />
set in an unusual setting. Fashion is<br />
still B&B’s main priority, but the distinctive<br />
combination of music and architecture<br />
make this event truly special.<br />
Anfänglich wurde die Bread & Butter als chaotische<br />
Spaßmesse belächelt. Jetzt, nach zweimaligem<br />
Standortwechsel, denkt das keiner<br />
mehr. Mit jährlichen Zuwachsraten von 20<br />
Prozent gehört sie zu den erfolgreichsten Messen<br />
überhaupt. Das liegt vornehmlich an dem<br />
originellen Konzept, denn die Bread & Butter<br />
beginnt da, wo andere Modemessen aufhören.<br />
Statt steriler Stände erwarten die Besucher<br />
coole Minilocations mit eigenem Profil, in denen<br />
Kleidung, Schuhe und Accessoires ungewöhnlich<br />
in Szene gesetzt sind. Die Mode ist<br />
immer noch das Entscheidende, aber die atmosphärische<br />
Einbindung von Musik und Architektur<br />
ist das Sahnehäubchen.<br />

Alta Moda Roma<br />
even time-honoured shows like the Alta<br />
moda in Rome need a make-over now<br />
and then to stay at the Olympic level in<br />
fashion. That’s where the many newcomers<br />
who make a splash during the Alta<br />
moda with their stunning creations come<br />
in. They never lose sight of Rome’s great<br />
love for all things extravagant. even Paris<br />
can’t keep up with the bold designs on the<br />
Italian catwalks. And that goes as well for<br />
the unconventional venues, where sexy<br />
outfits designed by a 15-year-old Russian<br />
girl have the same chance of causing a sensation<br />
as wedding dresses for gay couples.<br />
This ancient city has never been afraid of<br />
scandal.<br />
Auch altehrwürdige Modemessen wie die Alta<br />
Moda in Rom brauchen ab und an eine Frischzellenkur,<br />
um weiter ganz oben im Fashion-<br />
Olymp mitzuspielen. Es sind die vielen Newcomer,<br />
die mit ihren verblüffenden Kreationen<br />
an den römischen Alta-Moda-Tagen für Furore<br />
sorgen und dabei nicht Roms große Vorliebe für<br />
Extravaganz vergessen. Selbst Paris kann bei<br />
den gewagten Stücken auf dem Laufsteg nicht<br />
mithalten. Das gilt auch für Defilees der ungewöhnlichen<br />
Art: Hier haben sexy Outfits von<br />
einer 15-jährigen Russin genauso viele Chancen<br />
wie Brautkleider für homosexuelle Paare,<br />
für Aufsehen zu sorgen. Um Eklats war die<br />
Ewige Stadt nie verlegen.<br />
