Together with their professor, two American
students from Indiana have invented a
revolutionary new bike for kids – even
though they really couldn’t care less about
bicycles. Which won’t end up bothering the
kids at all. It starts out looking like a normal
tricycle. But as kids get better at balancing
and want to go faster, they can transform it
into a bicycle by combining the two rear
wheels into one. And people say there’s
nothing going in America’s middle West.

Rad für Kids erfunden, obwohl sie selbst mit
Fahrrädern nichts am Hut haben. Die Kids

beiden Hinterräder zu einem zusammenschließen.

Electric power in your pocket
There’s no limit anymore to where solar
technology can be used. The latest creation
is a stylish solar shoulder bag that allows you
to conveniently recharge your mobile, mp3
player or iPod without having to use a wall
outlet. You can also attach a GPS device using
an adapter cable. The only thing missing
is a little container for ground espresso to go
with the mini coffee machine it carries too.

Jellyfish à la Spielberg
Some futuristic products are so fascinating
you just can’t stop looking at them. That’s
exactly the effect with these swimming robots
in the form of jellyfish called »AquaJellies«.
A centrally contained drive mechanism
powers the tentacles. They swim completely
on their own without any outside control.
The artificial jellyfish communicate with
each other using infrared and can swim in
formation. They’d even take Steven Spielberg’s
breath away.

Toyota’s latest transportation concept you
never have to leave your seat again. The
invention is called the i-Real and looks
like a chair on wheels. It adjusts from an
upright position to a half-reclined position
for higher speeds. So with the help of
your i-Real, now you can get to the corner
store to stock up on chips during the commercial
break.

Bauhaus Luftfahrt is a think tank in
Garching near munich that studies intermodal
transportation solutions: how can
transportation providers be networked
with each other in the future, for example
air and rail? Illustrated here is a vertical
flying machine that combines the capabilities
of a helicopter and a plane. It can carry
both passenger compartments and freight,
meaning the transportation of tomorrow
will be much more flexible.

Verkehrsträger beispielsweise Luft und Schiene
