“That’s not true!” exclaimed Grandpa.
“Yes, it is,” Granny replied.
“No, it’s not!” After that I went to bed. Every
time Grandpa and Granny tell me this story
they end up arguing. I never knew which
story was the true one.

Music to my Ears, to my
Memories and to my Heart
To me, music is not just something to listen to;
music is the other half of me. A world without
music is a world in which I could never live.
Music can do things to me that nothing other
than music can do. The melody of a song is
the most important part, but the lyrics can
make a song what it is.
A song, to me, is not just something that
makes me want to dance or sing along. A
song makes me want to cry, laugh, stare
into nothing, or just sit and think. Music
carries my emotions and memories. I create
memories with music. I constantly listen to
music so that, when something happens, the
music is right there with me to get through it
with me. A single bar of a song can take me
back to the situation in which that song was
there. I can feel exactly how I felt then and
the memories just keep coming.
I take music more seriously than most
people. Music is in me; I can feel it in me
constantly. And I listen to everything in a
song. I will always hear the instruments in
the background and then wander to the
lyrics. Lyrics, to me, are very special. They
are modern poetry; they can be so beautiful
that the song does not need instruments.
There is a song called “Shiver” by Goldplay
and the lyrics of this song make me want to
cry. It is almost as if it had been written purely
for me. And every time I hear it I remember
certain things, and it says words I can never
get out.
Music is to me what religion is to some. I rely
on it to make me bring out my full emotions.
Music makes my heart ache, and I love
it. I want always to be able to go back to
memories so easily. Without music I would
be a different person, a person without a
whole soul. Music means the world to me,
and no-one can take that away from me.

Medieval March
Peasants look up and down the fields
As soldiers with their swords and shields
March towards… Their heads held high
As the women sob and cry
Horses trot at an easy pace
People will never forget the face
Of the warriors going to fight
Every day and every night
Family Saturday
The hills are green as green can be
This is the perfect spot for my family and me
After a match we start to eat
Ah, what a nice little family treat
We go for a little paddle in the lake
After that we eat some cake
Then we lie back on the soft green grass
Oh, it’s so nice to have peace at last.
Winter
What a happy time of year
The seagulls go, the robins appear
The snowflakes fall
The parents call - with a scorn
Telling the kids to please stay warm
Or for the kids to come inside
But the children stay and hide
Building snowmen, throwing snowballs
And ignoring parents’ calls
In the night - guess who’s here??
It’s so the best time of year!!
