Leonardo Network for Academic Mobility is a network of 127 dynamic partners from universities,
colleges and intermediate organisations in 27 European countries, all of them involved
in Academic Mobility within the European Vocational Training Programme LEO-
NARDO DA VINCI. LEO-NET was founded in 1999 and was initiated in Maastricht, The
Netherlands, the same year. In 2000 in Leipzig, Germany, LEO-NET was set into operation
by its members. The idea was to establish a platform for discussion of common problems
and difficulties, as well as the development of strategies for improvement in the field of
higher education. Stimulation and facilitation of internationalisation of higher education in
Europe is a major goal of the network. The still growing number of members proves that
the communication and interaction between the partners is needed in order to guarantee a
high standard of student placements within Europe 28 under LEONARDO DA VINCI.
Members and all interested parties have the opportunity to participate in Workshops organised
by LEO-NET where they can learn and hear more about specific topics in higher
education mobility projects, especially how to handle LdV mobility projects, project management
and reporting as well as networking amongst partners of all over Europe. Recently
the Leo-Net has introduced a new feature, the European job offer exchange tool
JOE, which allows students and administrators to look and search for enterprise offers easily
and quickly all over Europe.

6. “Let's go East“ & "Personalmobilität Hochschule-Wirtschaft", Leonardo Büro Thüringen
Let´s go East: Gute Erfahrungen Thüringer Studierender mit LEONARDO-Praktika in MOE-
Ländern. Es werden die Praktika in MOE-Ländern im Rahmen der Studentenprojekte der
Jahre 2000 bis 2004 dargestellt. Dazu gehören ein Überblick über die Mobilitäten nach
Studienrichtungen und Zielländern ebenso wie die individuellen Erfahrungen der Teilnehmer.
Die Aktivitäten des Projektkoordinators zur Vorbereitung und Durchführung der Projekte,
die Netzwerkarbeit und die Nachwirkungen und Synergieeffekte der Projekte für die
beteiligten Hochschulen und Unternehmen sind gleichfalls Gegenstand der Präsentation.

Effekte, Erfahrungen, Schwierigkeiten

7. Nationale Agentur der Türkei
Die Türkei nimmt nunmehr vollständig am Leonardo da Vinci Programm teil. Die Vereinbarung
über die Teilnahme der Türkei an den Programmen Socrates, Leonardo da Vinci und
Jugend ist am 15. April 2004 von der Kommission und den türkischen Behörden unterzeichnet
worden und am 8. Mai im türkischen Amtsblatt veröffentlicht worden.
