TENCEL ® is extracted from eucalyptus wood, exclusively
from sustainable forestry. The fragrant raw material grows
quickly on so-called “wood farms”, cultivated for industrial
use, without artificial irrigation or gene manipulation.
TENCEL ® wird aus Eukalyptusholz, das ausschließlich aus
nachhaltiger Forstwirtschaft stammt, gewonnen.
Lenzing produces “botanic fibers” – and is thus at the cutting edge of
environmental and climate protection in the fiber industry.
Global climatic changes culminating in Al Gore winning the Nobel
Peace Prize have finally galvanized people into taking action. It
has become more common for consumers to be critical of products
which are not “CO2 neutral”. For environmentally conscious consumers,
ecological labeling, CO2 labeling and product certification
according to environmental compatibility are increasingly emerging
as important ways to differentiate products. International retail store
chains such as the British company TESCO or IKEA have taken steps
to develop their own labels informing consumers of the CO 2 footprint
of their products. Marks & Spencer has announced its aim to be CO 2
neutral by 2012. TESCO plans to make “green investments” amounting
to EUR 750 mill. over the next five years.
The trend toward ecologically sophisticated products will also
have a greater impact on the fiber market of the future. Fibers, like
food, directly come into contact with the human body. Thus environmentally
and health conscious consumers increasingly attach
more importance to the origin and materials used in clothing and
nonwoven products.
Internationale
Nonwovens-Produkten.
