whereas in Italy the style is paramount and the fabric is less impor-
All in all, the future looks bright for Tanitex, and the company has
ambitious plans to expand its market share. “We’re hoping to increase
our own brand sales – we’d like to achieve a 50-50 split
between brand and OEM sales – and we also want to achieve an
equal balance between men’s and women’s underwear,” she said.
Currently about 80% of Tanitex’ products are menswear.
One of the company’s strengths is in developing new styles and
new materials, and Ms. Tang expects that further cooperation with
Lenzing might lead to new materials and new products. “We already
use a lot of Lenzing Modal ® in our collection, and we also
blend Lenzing Modal ® with other materials like cotton and angora
– almost anything you can imagine – and we will continue seeking
new blends and materials and expanding our range. We keep a
close eye on what Lenzing is doing and we hope – and expect –
that we will be doing more business with Lenzing in future,” said
Ms. Tang.
