heiLigenkreuz expansion
Lenzing will expand its fiber production
plant in Heiligenkreuz, Austria. The expansion
by two spinning lines is designed to
increase nominal capacity from 40,000
tons at present to close to 50,000 tons annually
within the next business year. The
reason for the decision is the continuing
strong demand for TENCEL ® fibers in the
international fiber market.

Der Lenzing Faserproduktionsstandort Heili-
genkreuz (Österreich) wird ausgebaut. Durch
die Erweiterung um zwei Spinnstraßen soll
die Nennproduktionskapazität innerhalb
des nächsten Jahres von 40.000 auf knapp
50.000 to p. a. erhöht werden. Grund für den
Ausbau ist die nach wie vor ungebrochen
hohe Nachfrage nach TENCEL ® Fasern am
internationalen Fasermarkt.
Fahnemann is cirFs president
Thomas Fahnemann was elected president
of CIRFS, the association of the European
man-made fiber industry, for a period of
three years. Its members generate 90%
of Europe’s man-made fiber production,
with over 40,000 employees. In Thomas
Fahnemann, the association has found
a president who has proven that a European
company with the right strategy can
very successfully master the challenges of
globalization, CIRFS said in commenting
on the election.

automobiLe industry reLies on hybrid engines with tenceL ® Fibers
Global warming and increasing environmental awareness have, in turn, led to a far-reaching
change of thinking in the automobile industry. The response of most manufacturers
has been the hybrid engine. This development has unleashed an intense competition in the
automotive sector. These engines represent an interaction of electric and gas motors, with

Thomas Fahnemann wurde für die nächsten
drei Jahre zum Präsidenten von CIRFS, dem
Dachverband der europäischen Chemiefaserindustrie,
gewählt. Im CIRFS sind 90%
der europäischen Chemiefaserproduktion
mit über 40.000 Beschäftigten vertreten.
Mit Thomas Fahnemann habe der Verband
einen Präsidenten, der bewiesen hat, dass
auch europäische Unternehmen mit der
richtigen Strategie die Herausforderung der
Globalisierung äußerst erfolgreich bewältigen
können, begründete CIRFS die Wahl.
